Thanks for all the comments, ladies!
@bj1111: I love the AllSaints aesthetic and have definitely looked into it. Unfortunately the price tag is beyond what I can afford while I'm going through weight loss. I will definitely shop this brand once I've reached my goal and I'm ready to make the investment!
@Diana: I know shifts can be challenging for pear shapes! Have you looked into more a-line shaped hems?
I have been off-and-on here so I missed the dress Una tried. That dress looks really cool though the neckline will not work for me. I'm still relatively busty (despite the 2 inch loss) so lower scoop necks and v-necks work best. Boatnecks, in some instances also work for me.
@Staysfit: it's certainly a lot of work to lose 12 lbs! An enormous amount of willpower!
@lisap: I would totally try Club Monaco shifts in a heartbeat! If I wasn't going through weight loss I'd definitely shop there as it's one of my favourite stores! Their lines are very clean and mod-like which is why I'm particularly drawn to their aesthetic.
Like you, I'd wear a silk shift year round! It's really just a layering exercise and from what I heard, silk has it's own insulating properties! I really regret not having purchased two Cynthia Rowley shifts during the summer because they would've fitted me perfectly, now that I've lost some bust inches (biggest size was tight but not glaringly so in bust/arms).
