WIW 0927: Industry Conference

The field I'm currently in (my day job) is usually very casual and so are the workplaces. Getting too dressy will make one feel too out of place. So here's yet another mini outfit, this time in form of a frock. Additional jacket photo attached as well.

Very nice! I like the proportions and the silhouette on you. The coat is awesome as well! This is feminine but not too frilly or dressy...a good balance.

Terrific outfit. Soia and Kyo make such fab coats. Where did you find this one? Were you lucky enough to get it at Winner's? Occasionally our Winner's has one of their coats but I have never lucked out in sizes.

Gorgeous! I'm starting to mentally consider wearing dresses in my very casual day-job environment too.... In the summer it was no big deal, but now that it's fall, we'll see.

Thank you ladies for the kind words! I fell in love with this dress on first sight and I know I've been talking about wearing shift dresses all summer - it finally works on me (or I found a cut that works)!

@Gigi: this is my kind of feminine. I realized I'm not all about the frills but I like having the curved lines - yet not too curvy either.

@Suz: how did you know? I got this coat about 5 or so years ago. Usually S&K coats are narrow on the shoulder for me (this started out a bit tight in the arms) but after the weight loss I've had, the arms fit. I grab a style-compatible S&K coat when I see it, but then again, that brand is totally my kind of style!

@Amy: I find that I wear more dresses in the fall than summer. Since I have a tendency to wear shorter skirts, it's easy to wear the dresses with tights! There are creative ways of layering in the colder months so it's worth a try!

@Una: so glad you're inspired! I've been in this weird 60's mod-inspired kick lately after rediscovering minis (I stopped wearing them when I turned 25). I'd love to see the look on you!
