Ohhh yes... I did a copycat outfit!

I pinned, deleted and repinned this photo so many times. I've always loved the way it looked but hesitated a lot because I didn't think it would work. Plus, I couldn't find a similar print shirt! When I found this button down, I knew I had to get it despite being icky polyester. And with my flares, maybe... Just maybe...

The concept of this outfit was good but.... I don't think I like semi-tucking this shirt with flares anymore. I couldn't quite get the same effect. And when I do a full tuck, it just looks wrong due to my short torso,

The verdict: it's ok but it's not my best.

The outfit was comfortable for a time but the top was not able to stand the humidity. I think I'll reserve this top for under 20 degree Celsius temperatures.

You look terrific. I think it is an excellent interpretation of the pin. However, i hear ya on poly having a hard time in the heat!

Well, I completely hear you about polyester in the humidity. But you LOOK terrific. You're a hard judge of your own outfits.

ETA: here is my response to you on my thread in case you don't go back -- re Zara shopping:

I pretty much always order online because there is no Zara in my city. The online site gives you a better view of things (and more things are on view). The store on weekends can get insanely busy and it's a pain to get a fitting room. I do occasionally pop into one when I'm in Toronto or Montreal, but I try to make it a weekday morning if I actually hope to try things on.

With free shipping and returns, it's really simple to order on line. Deliveries are fast and so are refunds. It's the best online shopping I've found in Canada, frankly. Keep in mind that they are typically a good fit for me at least in tops and jackets. And I know my size in advance. I DO send back a lot of what I order, but I also keep a fair amount.

@Suz: yeaaaah I get so hung up on proportion. Sometimes I wonder if I'm seeing things since you ladies seem to like my "out of proportion" outfits. What I found surprising though? This outfit photographs well!

@Suz: thanks for the response! Hmm I had no idea that Zara had good shipping policies! I pass by Zara when I can and have purchased some good jackets there. I find that the stores get too crazy and disorganized, and there are long lineups for change rooms. I always notice that you guys here in YLF have such excellent finds from there!

Yup. Here's the deal. You order -- if it is over $50 it's free. Comes to your door FAST. Usually a couple of days. Don't like it? No problem. You can return in store (free), by pick up (free), or by mail (free). There is a return label and security tag in the box. All you do is go online, say what you would like to return, and pop it in the mail all packaged up. I find mail returns easier than in store returns for obvious reasons, but I've done them in the store also. They refund as soon as they get the item. I have not had a single problem. And the stuff comes nicely packaged, too.

I always found that I'm more drawn to online ordering because the stores often have limited selections. I haven't ordered much online though, because of so many "mistake purchases" in the past. It's always good to find a retailer that has easy returns!

Would you like these patterned shirts? They come in petite if that's better for your short torso. They're cotton, though, and not silk. But still breathable. Each color has a totally different pattern.

@Gigi: thanks for the suggestions! Cotton normally isn't fluid though, so it might not work. I find fluidity at the top (unless it's a topper) is key for my body type.
