WIW 0625: Slacker Chic - YouLookFab Forum

I'm running on 2 hours of sleep. I stayed up last night to write my final essay for class. After class tonight.... FREEDOM, at least for 2 months until September rolls back in. I can finally focus on my creative hobbies!

I was supposed to wear a flashy celebratory outfit, but I woke up kind of BLARGH today so I decided I wanted something easy and movable and fuss free. So instead of being Queen Flashy, I decided on an outfit that feels just like , and it was awesome.

Here I am again, a girl in my mid-30's in a miniskirt - but hey, I love them and I will keep wearing them until I'm wrinkled (heh!). This skirt, by the way, does NOT ride up, much unlike the Catherine Malandrino skirts I own. It stayed put! It's a skirt from Tart and I absolutely LOVE their soft jersey tops and dresses. High quality jersey, and I always watch out for this brand in Hautelook!

Oh and I loooove this top. It's nice, roomy, drapey and I feel comfortable, feminine yet tough! You know, if it wasn't for YLF, I wouldn't have discovered how well hi-Lo tops worked on me and how it pairs so well with a tube skirt.

Methinks I'm addicted to this formula now.

This is fabulous, Ms. KK!! Love that blue in the skirt, and you have no reason to fear showing your knees. The looser top "debombshells" the look just enough.

@Suz: oh I have no fear over my knees I've always complained about my lack of waistline in the past forgetting that I actual like my legs it's actually the first season in years that I've worn a mini without tights! I've also been fascinated by the "debombshelling". Only a few months ago, I was all about the bombshell! This look is just sooo comfy!

@janet: haha! I'm actually not a slacker in real life I just didn't feel like thinking about an outfit concept so I grabbed whatever's comfy and just ran with it. That's actually how I often dress in the mornings. Almost everything I own goes with each other. I guess that's the beauty of system dressing

I think you look very lovely. the pattern in a skirt the top everything just works and I love the proportions on you and yay for no riding up. I like the jewelry the ring is awesome and the sandals just put it over the top just lovely.

Yep that's surely is a fail proof formula on you! Sometimes easy is really more than good enough! And hoorah for the two month break. (Psst ... DS has started his summer break too! I know how it feels as a mommy :D. And I still remember how it felt as a kid!)

Love this KK! Proportions are fab and it totally works. I love your jewellery and sandals, they compliment your outfit perfectly. Your kitty is adorable!

I'm really enjoying tube skirts with looser tops lately too! Still love dresses but, especially in the summer when things aren't layered as much, there's something nice about being able to wear outfits that lets you mix and match a little, instead of looking the same every time.

And the combo works so well on you!

Love, love this outfit! Slacker chic--yes! I'd like to adopt the look. I can see why you gravitate toward this formula. Flattering, comfy and chic all at once. Tart does have beautiful soft knits, and fun, sexy styles, too. I first encountered it in a local boutique.

And no length on the skirt issues from me. Actually I'm rapidly running out of 40's, and wear this length frequently

What a great outfit! I'm going to look up that skirt to see if available, I like it that much on you – color, pattern and length. Sandals are perfect for the look as is your cool pulled-back hair.
