I think I went slightly out of character today. This shirt is older - and kind of in my standby pile of shirts I want to include/exclude for my minimalist wardrobe. As much as I fell in love with this print, it has to go on the donate pile. I really would've loved this outfit, but the top isn't large enough. I wanted a more fluid looser look because it's just a bit more edgy to me. I purchased this last year when I used to NOT be a waist surrender. Time spent in YLF can certainly change one's mind and I found a waist-surrendering formula that worked.

I'll also need to donate the shoes. I love the way they look but despite them being near-flats (because I can't wear flats or high heels), the forefoot is not rigid enough for my arthritic feet, thus giving me a really sore forefoot.

Great concept, overall though.

I like this look, it's a bit sassy, but feminine (pants!) and kinda has that edge too (top and accessories)!

Can you stick a gel pad in the forefoot region to save the shoes?

@Tanya: Thank you! And yes... I'll need to think about either making this shoe work or getting rid of it. I bought this because my coworker recommended it. Back then, I thought that simply a lower wedge (this one is about an inch and a half) would work for my feet. I had no idea I needed a thick sole for my forefoot!

@Lyn: the sole of these shoes are sadly too soft. I can try sticking a pad to see how it goes, but I think the forefoot is just too flexible for my feet. We will see if that works though.

@Rachylou: yup. I'm sad because the cut and pattern is just so awesome. I bought this sometime last year and I wasn't as active in YLF then. I haven't figured out the mechanics of semi-tucking

@Ceit: the top doesn't seem too small at all? I was hoping it was roomier so it had that fluid effect. I really love that top but the size is making me think twice.

I love the whole outfit!! It's fantastic. Sad about the shoes, but off they go if they do not work. In the photo the top looks fine, but if it feels too snug, off it goes as well.

It reads fluid to me with those drapey sleeves! It would look great with your shorts and you should try it with skirts.

@Suz and Susie: actually I have no mobility issues with the top at all! No snugness and no muffin top showing. The issue I had was the semi-tucking. It seems like there's too little to tuck (the top is tunic length but narrow, not oversized). I'm going to try this top with my flares (mid rise) next week to see if it works. I don't want to get rid of it!

@Ceit: you're right - it looks great with both the black and white shorts I have. I tried it when I was playing around with diff combos!
