WIW 06.14.12 - Sveta copycat - YouLookFab Forum

A couple of weeks ago Sveta posted an outfit with white blazer, printed top, denim clams, and yellow shoes that I loved (it's her third outfit in this link):

I decided to copy her today since I have a similar neutral tank, clams, and my new yellow shoes. I do not have a white blazer though, so I first tried with my white denim jacket (photo 2), which felt a little too cropped and was emphasizing my pear shape in a bad way, so I swapped it out for my turquoise knit blazer which was a much better shape for this outfit (photo 1). As a bonus, the turquoise blazer is more comfy for wearing while doing things at work anyway. Do you guys think a white or cream blazer would be useful in my wardrobe?

I LOVE *both* outfits. K-word worthy x2. In fact, I think I prefer the white! Do get yourself a white blazer - like now.

Ooh, yes, a white blazer should fit right in! Like Shannon and Angie, love both versions, with a slight, teensy-weensy preference for the white --- it makes you glow even more! Oh, and VERY cool sandals!

Thanks, everyone! I thought the outfit with the white jacket made my hips and thighs look big but maybe it is just in my head. The tank is very flared and the longer jacket helps rein it in a bit.

Marie, the blazer is by Nic + Zoe and I got it at Nordstroms. Here is the product page but it is sold out now. =( Maybe you could find one on ebay or at the rack though? It came in many colors at one point. It is perfect for summer and very comfortable.

Angie and everyone else: any suggestions for white blazers? I'd like something that fits my short waist but is not too cropped. Ideally something lightweight for summer (a knit maybe?)

I love both outfits! ANd so much fun to see such a copycat I actually like #2 best. strange how we make up ideas of what we look like and that other don't perceive it that way at all

I like both a lot. I can see what you see, but I have learned I am pear-sensitive: the turquoise makes you look longer & leaner. The white version is awesome too, just more curvy. Also more high-contrast - hmm.
Of course, I still love the shoes.

I slightly prefer #2 as well. You should definitely get a white cotton blazer

Both versions look fab, but I really love #2 with the white jacket. So crisp, and sets off the yellow sandals perfectly. Really cool print on the blouse, too!

Worth repeating that I love both with a slight preference for the white jacket version. I'd be afraid white knit just wouldn't retain it's whiteness and start to yellow. I think white in polished cotton looks crispest.

Jeanne, good point about the white knit blazer... I think cotton or linen is probably the way to go. I just saw that the Gibson blazer Jean just posted an outfit with comes in white, so I may try that one...

Try Express and Banana Republic. They have great white blazers at the moment.

Diana--check out the one-button Gibson blazer that Greenglove has a thread on. It's in Angie's store and comes in white. Great for summer; cotton and/or linen I believe.

Awesome outfits! I really love #1 (love how the curve of the jacket works so well with the curve of the top, plus the combo of blue and yellow), but #2 is fab too.
