WIW 06.07.12 - shorts, tights, and boots

I had this urge to wear shorts with boots today, but since I don't normally wear shorts with bare legs to work, I decided to try out the shorts+tights look for the first time. How did I do? I think this would be better with sheerer black tights, but apparently I don't have any, so I went with these semi-sheer grey ones.

Are the shorts a good length/slouchy enough for this look?

Tulle top, BCBGeneration shorts, H&M tights, AE denim jacket, Rieker Remonte Dorndorf boots, Audrey Brooke satchel.

Shorts with tights and boots is one of my favorite combos! Love it on you. I think your legs are long enough that you don't need the tights to be darker, even though it would work that way, too. Again, I you could do longer, baggier shorts if you wanted, but I like this version juuuuust fine.

I actually *like* the grey tights --- they tone with the shorts as well as your boot tips beautifully!

I'm not experienced enough with shorts and slouchy pants to comment on that aspect, but I really like the idea of shorts worn with tights. Also love your bright blue top with the dark shorts. It's clearly one of your best colours, that teal-tending Turkish blue (if my screen is reading it right).

I am just training my eye on the shorts/tights look but I must say that I like this on you - it's tonally working and giving you a long leg. That teal is great topper color with the grey leg too.

Thanks, everyone! I'm happy I seem to have pulled this off, and that the grey tights are good with this. (Although... I really do need to buy some sheer tights too.)

I like this look a lot, so I think there will definitely be more shorts + tights outfits in the future. I'd love to get some slightly longer, baggier shorts as well.

I think this looks great Diana! (Is this really your first time doing shorts+tights!?? I find that so hard to believe!) I think the gray tights work, and that sheer tights would also work. Printed/textured tights are also fun to sport this way. For some reason I tend to like wearing my silky shorts+tights+boots in spring, and silky shorts+boots bare legged in the fall.

(I was going to wear my black silky shorts with sheer black tights today but changed at the last second. Boo!)
