So here's why this outfit is outside my comfort zone:
1. I'm wearing a white top. I'm the self-proclaimed Clumsiest Person Alive who spills coffee on herself on a regular basis. Also, I'm self-conscious of my large upper body. I avoid lighter tops LIKE THE PLAGUE!
2. I'm wearing a hi-Lo hemline. When they came out, I haaaaated them. But after the post on Angie's tube skirt + loose top formula and how she explained hi-lo's add structure to the outfit, I had to see it for myself.
3. Separates. Some of you know I have a fear of separates and a fear of muffin top spilling over. Some of you also know I'm a proportion freak and I'm paranoid that separates tend to highlight my super short torso.
Now here is why this outfit is FREAKIN AWESOME:
1. They feel like pajamas yet look very polished. An absolute rarity in my world. I wear a lot of slim fitting bottoms and body-skimming dresses and have ALWAYS had to sacrifice comfort. Not so with these. Productivity level at work went up (I can't work when my clothes are "too casual")
2. I feel great. I feel pretty. I feel like a bad*ss. I feel HAPPY!
3. I can wear this with heels (#1) or with faux Birks flats (#2).
4. Wearing white is like living on the edge for a clumsy girl
5. My first time trying an Angie formula AND IT WAS AWESOME!
BONUS POINTS:
I got so much compliments for this outfit. It's more casual than what I normally wear, and that's the odd part!
Only one problem:
The sweater snagged a lot. At the end of the day, it' was pretty "holey" and I got sad. I really LOVE this sweater. I think I can get a few more wears of it so I'll enjoy it while it lasts.
