WIW 04.12.12 - leprechaun dress

Haven't worn my leprechaun dress for a while, so I decided to pair it with my fitted waistcoat and moto boots today. Tights are rose-printed but it's hard to see here (also super uncomfortable - see my earlier post about tights - so they are now in the trash). The dress is a true, super-saturated emerald green; I don't think this comes through in the photo at all even after a lot of photo editing. (Incidentally, does anyone know how to make my camera (a canon digital elph) like green? This came out of the camera turquoise, and it makes all my teals look like blue).

PS-Nobody called me a leprechaun this time around. I think after 3 years everyone at lab is immune to my crazy outfits!

So, all these years, I thought waistcoats could only be worn with long sleeves.... and here you are, blowing my mind! Super col outfit, Diana!

Can you adjust the white balance on your camera? It's usually a function in the settings menu somewhere. You tell it to set white balance, then shoot something white. When you go back to the regular shooting mode, the colors *should* be more true to life.

Rae, I tried all the white balance settings including the manual one, and all the random preset color settings, increasing and decreasing exposure, and they all came out turquoise. The other colors in the photo are fine, it just washes out and blue-ifies all the greens except for the yellowish ones. I suspect the solution is going to be: get an SLR - but it's not really in the budget right now. In the meantime, I'll just have to make do w/ photoshop.

Finally the peeps in the lab mellow out! I'm glad you aren't getting razzed anymore for being so fab. Super color and fab with the vest. Sorry about the trashed tights...they served there purpose today. You look great Diana!

I love this slightly retro-romantic look, Diana! (And much admiration for rocking green, which I love to hate for making me look jaundiced. You, on the other hand, look positively peachy perfect in green!) Between the waistcoat and toning boots and tights, you look very sleek and sophisticated in this outfit. Bet you had a spring in your step wearing this.

Manidipa, I'm skeptical that you look bad in green... I actually think that it's one of those colors that looks good on everyone! (If this shade of emerald doesn't work, then how about something grassier?)

Kirti, you should definitely try some emerald sometime now that you have red hair. It's a match made in heaven. =)
