WIW 02.26.14 - Socks Required

As much as I would love to be experimenting with sockless loafers, it was -4F (-20C) on my way into work today. Sadly, socks are required. As are boots, down parka . . . The shoes are almod toed oxfords at least

Too cold! Here we have 18ºC in the afternoon, so I can go without socks!

Ha! I have the same temperature as Rute but I still am not ready to given up socks, Thistle if I were you I would be wearing a blanket!

I don't know how you can stand those frigid temps day after day after day! We got down to 0F before Christmas, but yesterday it got up to 69F. I saw people in shorts.

The sweater is a nice color on you.

Yes, socks definitely required.Your oxfords make for a nice change, though.I like how the subtle stripes in the sweater complement the pants.

Thistle, Ha! Everything is relative I guess. We're getting a bit of a "cold snap" here today in SoCal. So when I read your comment about everyone wearing shorts if it was 69 degrees I laughed.

Today's temp in Santa Monica is only supposed to hit around 62. My outfit is consisting of cashmere sweater, heavy cashmere and wool cape, jeans, fedora and oxfords (with socks or I'd be freezing!!)

Your shorts weather at this point is my "damn, it's sorta cold today" weather!

Keep warm, my friend! Winter will eventually end... and after living in Boston for over 14 years and dealing with the long and dreary New England winters I really empathize with you ...and I love your cold weather outfit choices today, socks and all!

The top looks good and I like the shoes (even with socks). Cheer up - soon it will be warm and everyone will be complaining about how much they hate dressing in the summer

I know what you mean, and for me that is even for temps of 25 F.
I sneak in socks with my loafers and oxfords (hiding from Angie) because they are very comfortable for work and I need more season-spanning.

Your top is great--is it marled, or what? Really like how the flecks tie together different parts oufit and hair coloring. I often prefer a top that has a bit of darker color, either black or charcoal or a very dark version of the color, for black pants, along with accent color(s), sometimes more than just a solid top over black pants. It makes me feel more intentional and blendy.

That sweater is *beautiful* on you! Your hair style is lovely too, and the whole outfit is pretty while still being wintry and warm (-4 is intense! Do you go into work before the sun comes up? I've lived in the Midwest but not the northern parts you're in.). We're having a cold snap today (it's 42 out-for south Texas that's very cold), and I'm thrilled to get to wear a cashmere pullover/jumper one last time. I just love cold weather dressing, but I empathise with all of you who are tired of it. We'll see if my attitude changes next winter when I'm in the north & facing months of it!
