WIW 02.24.14 - Polar Vortex Returns

High today is 9F, and it promises to be the warmest day of the week.

Selected warm burgundy sweater. I love the color on me, less sure about the length now that I see it in photos. Paired with Talbots curvy ft trousers. This is not my normal fit, but giving them a try based ont he pretty pear post from Angie. I had to size down in them

Topped off with tiger shoes (wanted to wear leopard, but the pants were 1/4 inch too long and dragged on the ground) and Movodo watch.

The color is great on you. Did you try pulling up the bottom a bit to see if you like that length better? Love the tiger shoes!

Love the burgundy and tiger stripe combo. Burgundy/wine/deep reds definitely look fantastic on you!

A good outfit for a cold day. If the length of your sweater isn't quite right, you could easily scrunch it up a little to break the horizontal line. Is the waistline too high for a semituck?

YLF, and love the colors, shoes are gorg, too! What about a pendant for a focus point on your upper torso? I use the trick all the time when wearing a turtle neck:-)

This is a great way to face the weather, Thistle! I like the fit of the trousers, too!

I'm with Joy -- have you ever tried slightly scrunching the bottom half of your knits. It might not be to your liking, but it works well with some of my stretchier tops.

9 degrees -- Brrrr! (Cold wave coming our way on Wednesday) You look great, in spite of the plummeting temps. The sweater is fabulous on you. Burgundy is definitely one of your best colors. Fun shoes!!! BTW -- your hair looks particularly lovely today. Love the subtle waves.

I agree with the comments that those burgundies and wines and terrific colors for you. Very nice! Can commiserate on the weather too ... we are at 17F and plummeting fast!!

I love this. Great color for you, which you know, and awesome shoes. I also like your hair down in the back. If you're like me it goes up at some point during the day no matter what. This winter is just endless. I drove to work on solid ice....so ready for spring and I don't have it half as bad as you.

Great outfit--to my eye the shoes make it extra special. I wonder if it is just the camera angle that makes the sweater seem a bit too long. Sometimes proportions do look different because of the flattening effect of the lens. However, you do look toasty warm.
