WIW 01.17.2014 - Back from the Cobbler (Updated with necklace pic)

So, the gorgeous Angie recommended boots I bought this fall I slipped and fell in at work. We are a heavy manufacturer and have no carpet. The floors, especially in winter, can get pretty slick. So while the boots were fine at home, I was terrified to wear them back to work.

So, I finally got off my tail and took them to the cobbler that recently opened in my area. He replaced the heels and the soles. I picked them up yesterday, so of course I had to wear them today!

BCBG Booties (Angie Recommended), Kut jeans (I didn't duplicate, so still trying to find these), Talbots textured sweater, and a tee underneath. Added the bracelet my sister helped me make and a fierce dragon pendant she got me.

Wow, great boots! I'm glad you got them fixed so they are wearable now. Slipping and falling sounds horrible. I'd love to see your pendant if you ever get a chance to take a close up of it.

Fabulous! I did this to my Report booties, too, because they had slippery bottoms, and wow, was I ever glad I did. Cost a bit, but totally worth it.

So glad you saved those boots Thistle 'cause they are gorgeous. I've had soles changed as well and can't get over the difference it makes.

I really like the strong and simple look here and those jeans are incredibly flattering on you. Hope you can find them again.

Great look and gorgeous booties. I did that for a favorite pair of leather-soled booties, mostly to protect them from wet weather. They definitely are less slippery now. Enjoy them!

You look great! I am glad that you got those boots fixed so that you can enjoy them now. They are very pretty.
Can they add rubber runners to the floors at your work? They did that by us and that helped decrease the number of employees falling because of slippery floors.

They had rubber mats down and then took them away because they "cost too much". *sigh* Had I really injured myself, it would have made up for the cost of them for a year as it would have been a Workman's Comp slip and fall.

Good idea on the boots. I had the same thing done to some leather-soled booties this year, and I have vowed to do that with ALL my leather-soled shoes.

Thistle - well done!! Very worth the expense and trouble. I had boots like that and I didn't wear them because of the slip factor. Not only don't you want to hurt yourself but now they will be a joy to come out and play!! Thank god for cobblers!! Stay safe!!

Nice boots. I am glad you did not hurt your self too bad when you fell. I have two pair of shoes at the cobbler now having heals replaced. Why can't they make the shoes with non slip heels to begin with?

You look great! I've never thought to do something like that with my boots, but that makes a lot of sense, especially for people like me who tend toward klutziness at the best of times.

I have the same booties and am ALWAYS slipping!!!!! I wore them to the mall last weekend and was sliding around Nordstrom. It was crazy. I have to do this ASAP.

YLF! It's good to know that footwear can get a grippy sole if needed. I buy stick-on petals for the bottoms to keep from sliding, but this would be even better. I hope your work place put the rubber mats back.
