WIW- Trying New Colour Combo - YouLookFab Forum

My colour comfort zone tends to be cool blues, greys, and the occasional burgundy/plum. However, I thought it might be fun to change things up a bit and experiment with adding some sage green into the mix. This particular green seems to work well with my blue denim and the grey in my wardrobe, but here I tried a slightly different colour mix.

The sage green tee is from Uniqlo, paired with white cuffed pants, cognac sandals, and a grey/cognac trimmed bag. I also added a tortoiseshell pendant necklace, a gift from my son. I think it works fairly well together. It's a blend of cool and warm colours, which is a little more subdued and muted compared to my typical colour palette.

I like it! Looks great with the white pants and cognac accents.

I do mix warm and cool and really like to do that. Seems to be more interesting.

You're so elegantly chic, Dee. The fit of your pieces is perfect and you look very polished and considered. I only wish I looked that good in a simple t-shirt ! And yes, I definitely mix warm and cool colours in one outfit - in fact I often prefer it that way.

This sage is a beautiful color on you, and pairs so well with the white denim and cognac sandals for summer. If you have any blush, this sage top would pair well with that as well. I recently paired sage with blush shorts in this post (outfit #11).

I don't mix warm and cool as often as I would like, but it's something of a goal of mine to do it more. Hence the warmer hued pants I recently bought.

I do mix warm and cool. Because warm colours suit me better I generally try to get warm colours near my face (top, jacket or necklace) and wear cool colours on bottom. Typically denim blue on bottom in winter with a warm coloured jumper and/or jacket. Last summer I experimented with lilac and sage on bottom with warmer colours (like brown, burgundy and olive) on top. I find jewellery and footwear really useful for warming up a cooler palette. And of course it can be used to cool down a warm palette too.

Jaime and Brooklyn- You both make excellent points on how you like to combine the mix. Since I generally prefer to wear cool tones, it makes sense to keep those colours on my upper half, and the warmer tones on the bottom or use them as accents with my accessories.

Oh, I like this a lot! It looks very fresh and light.

Sage green is a favorite of mine. It tends to bring out the green in my eyes. I have an Allsaints tee in a darker version of this color.
