WIW- Seasonally Confused

Our weather has been swinging wildly lately, and add to that the fact that certain buildings on campus have arctic AC and the huge variance of temps over the course of the day here in the desert....and it makes choosing one outfit difficult!
Today, I went with a seasonally confused look-
Ava & Viv black tee from Target
Black shorts (old)
Oatmeal Boyfriend Cardigan from Target
My old favorite boots from Target and vintage jewellery (close up)
I'm not sure why, but I seem to only wear these boots with bare legs. I have an appointment to have my hair trimmed today...yay!
I'd love to hear others solutions to seasonally confused weather dressing.....

You look very nice. I think that the "bare legged with boots" look is perfectly appropriate for this transitional weather. We are still having summer temps here, so not much "transitioning" going on yet. I am, however, preferring to wear some of my summer dresses over cropped pants/jeans. And, just like you, popping a cardigan over them when in the AC. I have also put away most of my sandals for the season. BTW -- Your jewelry is gorgeous!

Aw, thanks El Cee! This perfume bottle necklace is one of my favorite pieces. I found it at a thrift store, and when I opened it up to smell it, I found out that it held my grandmothers' signature scent! (She passed when I was young)

What a sweet story about the perfume bottle.
I love both necklaces.
That outfit makes complete sense. The weather has been quite variable here, and depending on how close I park to a building, I can be wearing something lightweight and carrying a warm sweater, or I'm leaving it in the car.

I deal with seasonally confused weather by dressing seasonally confused Cute outfit Khris, I'm a big fan of the boots+bare legs look especially with shorts. Really like the loooong cardi overtop, with the lower hems almost even.

I love the bare leg with boots look, maybe because it's a rare day indeed that it works in my climate! Your legs look miles long!

Ooh, I really like this outfit. I think the long cardigan is key. I wear boots and bare legs too when the weather is variable.

I really like this. I think the cardigan gives a nice shape and contrast and the boots go really well with it. I thought it was a black dress but see now they are shorts. Nice one

I like your outfit very much! Generally I like seasonally confused outfits but I understand they are not easy to put together. How can you stand bare legs? Have you socks under the boots? Today I am seasonally confused as well. It's cold here, but I refuse to dress Autumn-like. I am wearing a Summer dress with cardigan, tights and closed shoes. Looks a bit weird but ... it's warm.

I don't exactly know why, but like Sara, I think the cardigan is key here too. Somehow it gives balance to the outfit. You look great here, and the boots are cute with the shorts. But don't your legs freeze inside???

I endure seasonal confusion at this time of year all the time, because my house is naturally cool (our first floor is like a cave, which is nice in the summer but challenging in early autumn before we heat) -- and since I work at home, I will dress for the house. Then, I walk outside and it's warm and humid because summer has not left. Ugh!

I really hate being overly cold, though, especially with blasting AC, so I am prone to wear cropped jeans if I will be going inside anywhere. Dresses, shorts, etc., with bare legs are only for outside days.

One woman's seasonal confusion is another's transitional FFBO! I'm liking the boots with the short skirt and that's some sensational bling.

We've just come to the end of a late hot spell, I'm very relieved it's cooling down, but so far I'm reaching for the leftovers from springtime. There's always that moment when you have to reacquaint yourself with your own seasonal preferences.

That said, there's this beautiful woolly jumper I bought in the height of summer which I am very much looking forward to wearing for the first time...

Aida- interesting observation about cardigan length.

Sally and Approprio- they're shorts. Even in person it was hard to tell, but more comfortable than a skirt for me. It makes me consider the cardi over dresses though.

Sisi and Viva- I do have socks on inside my boots, and it was actually quite warm outside, so no freezing.

I always love the bare legs with boots look on other women and struggle with it for myself. I think you've done it really nicely here.

What a great story about the perfume bottle. And I love the pocket watch. I have two identical pocket watches that I think once belonged to my great grandfather, or maybe my great uncle, and I used to wear them a ton years ago. I'll have to pull one out again.

Janet-that's I thought this was a watch when I first saw it, but it actually is a perfume bottle. I love pocket watches, and would love to see how you style yours.
