Thank you, all, for your nice words.
Joy, you have the right idea that I should get ready for any spur of the moment activities first thing each day. I know there will be lazy days when I might turn down an invitation, but since I also want to be proactive and think up some adventures to invite others to, it would be good to be in practice for readiness at the drop of a hat, so to speak.
Carla, you ask good questions. I also tried to cut back on clothing purchases which would serve only for work. I'm not sure I was too successful, but that will become known as things either are worn or ignored, true? And as to summer skirts, i intend to wear the more casual ones as I find them cooler and often more flattering than shorts. But since I may be participating more in kid art projects, nature hikes and picnics, yard work, etc., I might be wrong about that.
I know that at the end of September, when it cooled off (a little), and I announced my retirement date at work, I was so tempted to box up all my silky tops, pencil skirts and sandals other than casual flats, and haul them off for immediate donation. Of course, I was aware of the stress-related motivation, and didn't act on that impulse.
Thanks for the reminder and compliments on my red pullover outfit. It reminds me I should be intentional about choosing necklaces, scarves or other accessories to keep my style from "sinking" into comfy-but-bland...
