WIW- my go to silhouette

I've come to realize that this is my go to look- simple, easy and comfortable. But is it too easy? Does it read as simple in a bad way- ie boring?

The picture probably isn't great....slate gray Eileen Fisher tapered pants, white asymetrical hem tunic top and burgundy suede high heeled pumps. Accessories are gunmetal hoop earrings, gray large stone ring and black/gray/clear silver bracelet.

That's my go-to silhouette too. I try to add interest or edge with texture, color and pattern when I can - but there's nothing wrong with simple!

I know what you mean. There is such a thing as "too easy." But this is not it. This is a great look with strong lines.

I think this silhouette is very on trend. I know what you mean about feeling like it's "too simple," but I think simple and clean IS the look.

As long as you add some great accessories (like you have) you'll look chic.

Wow, thank you. I do really like each of these pieces individually so I'm glad to hear that, together, they don't read as boring. The top does have a bit of texture....and a pocket in the middle of the back!

Simple is good! This is strong and simple. The simplicity makes the combination of soft pieces still read as somewhat powerful.

I agree with Louise. A long pendant or scarf would really pull this together, though it is strong with neither.

This is one of my favourite silhouettes too. I think the days you feel the need for more you can add the scarf or necklace but if you don't then it's great as is...imo.

Hmmm, I'm not sure it shows in the photo but the one bit of detail on the top is up on the left chest/shoulder. The fabric is gathered with 2 black "sticks" (they remind me of tiny chopsticks.) To me, a pendant or a scarf would detract fromthat. No?

I think this would be most flattering with a v or deeper scoop neck, or a long scarf or necklace to create that v-neckline. But the overall silhouette of this is modern and lovely. I could also see it with flat moto boots.

I don't think a necklace would compete with the detail of the top as long as it had the same vibe as the details.
