WIW- Hard edged with a soft centre

This printed silk vest is an old fave from All Saints. The print has exotic birds and foliage. I decided to add a bit of shape and structure (as the vest is tunic shaped with a hanky type hem) with my cotton biker jacket and edge with army boots. The colours are all in similar tones so they blend together.

Love this! love the tough casing of jeans/boots/moto jacket, and then the waterfall of softer tonally aligned animal prints inside it. What a great vest/top covered with wings!

For me the necklace is kind of a moot point with everything else going on, it doesn't visually register strongly, but it doesn't bother me at all either.

Again, great outfit.

The silk vest is perfect for this soft/hard look! There's a lot going on with the scarf and the tunic, but I think it works.

Lovely silk vest. It is a very maximal look. I do wonder what it would look like without the scarf, but I think that is my more minimalist style coming through.

Oh this looks great! I really like how the scarf echoes the handkerchief hem while the jacket reins it all in just enough. Your sharp bob provides extra structure too I think. And look at those birds! *happy sigh*

Thanks for the lovely comments - I do realise that the scarf does take it 'over the edge' a little for some people. However, I only wore the scarf outside (to keep the chill off a little) so the necklace was my more subtle accessory when I was inside.

Love this outfit! Great pattern mixing and the layering creates such great visual interest overall. I don't think the scarf takes it over the edge at all. I think the whole look is maximal in a really good way.

I adore that print on the vest! Would love to find something like that myself. I also would be curious to see the look without the scarf, but agree it looks terrific as is.
