I rarely do a WIW, but here I am. On my days off, I sometimes like to wear a full outfit instead of lounge clothes. Today I started with a lounge item, leggings, and went from there.
I kept in mind two things: Fly Lady's advice (any other fans?) that you get dressed with "full face" and "to the laces" everyday, even when staying at home. This means that you look presentable when answering the door, and you can also dash outside when needed. In practical terms, it means you are always in shoes, and always in make up. I understand also, that in some parts of the world, it would be unacceptable to wear pajamas all day.
Second thing: I always have a far-away goal to dress like an Italian woman. It really clashes with my need to be comfortable. Today I thought: how would an Italian woman wear leggings? If any woman would wear leggings as pants, with a shirt tucked in, it would be an Italian woman. I think it actually looks kind of great.
Shirt: Cuddl Duds, thrifted.
Leggings: Chico's.
Shoes: Clarks, thrifted.
Scarf: unknown, thrifted.
Earrings: Pearl, Macy's.
I like what I've done with the scarf. It has always clearly been some quality raw silk scarf, but being thrifted, I can never be bothered to iron it. I like how I worked with the roughness.
The purse (thrifted, Liz Claiborne), I just thought it was cute with the outfit, in case I wanted to go somewhere.
P.S. Did I do something wrong? These photos don't seem to be enlarging.
Edit: I changed the photos. They should be working now.
