Sadly, I didn't take an outfit pic. But last night, I went to a fancy speakeasy, which was my Christmas gift to my husband. I realized the day of that what I planned to wear wouldn't work because it was going to be about 14 F outside!
Fortunately, a sweater dress from LOFT came to the rescue. I'm glad I dressed up at least a little! There was a lady there in a white plunging dress with cut-outs on her back. Unless she was staying in the hotel where the bar was located, I have no idea how she managed that outfit in the current weather! Other people were in jeans, though, so my outfit was pretty much down the middle, which is my hope in these situations!
I'm starting to fill out my dressy cold weather capsule, which is a good thing if this winter stays as cold as it is now! I'm finding an increasing use for such items, so I don't mind the last minute purchase. I will likely also take this dress on a ski weekend later in the winter. It clung a bit too much to the ponte pants (could see the zipper), but for those temps I couldn't do tights. (I can't find fleece ones that fit me well - they don't stretch enough in the thighs).
I'll be spending NYE with my family in Rhode Island, pretty dressed down, so that's it for my dressy occasions until 2018. Happy New Year, everyone!
