WIW- Casual Daily Outfit + Bonus Pic

My daily casual wear is usually pretty much the same - esp. in summer. On a recent (90) degree "spring" day I tried my new AE bermuda shorts rolled up a bit with one of my light weight raspberry plaid LE Canvas button downs semi tucked (I sort of leave it untucked but rolled under in back - almost like if you were going to tie the shirt tail in front). My favorite daily use bag is a Fossil saddle style leather bag with my worn too often Teva brown leather sandals and simple Gap belt.

I know, not a lot to critique, no designer touches, but I just thought I'd share.

Bonus pic of a Texas windmill at sunset near our home. Lots of windmills out here, and now the wildflowers have started blooming so in a couple more weeks it will be like the Wizard of Oz.

You don't need designer to look great! I love the checks with the shorts. I need to head to AE and see what they have for shorts this year!

LOVE the windmill pics. You don't see many of those around here. The lighting is spectacular, btw. Great WIW. These kind of casual outfits are my faves. You look pulled together and stylish. Nothing wrong with that--especially when it's warm. Geez, if 90 is spring, then what is summer? I shudder to think about it. I'd love to see a picture of Oz, btw (no pressure.)

Ceit, thank you for your kind words - I haven't worn them again since I washed them but the AE shorts are super soft and comfortable on first wearing (I sized to my BF size so I do have to wear a belt).

Kelly, summer is similar to spring except the 100's are more common. It's a dry heat (lol). Seriously though it IS a dry heat out here most of the time and we routinely have outdoor activities in the shade in July/August. Lots of cold drinks. And swimming or wading in the water at least.

Kelly, yes the road sides will soon again look like this all the way into town, up and down rolling hills - it is truly a sight to behold. We like to call it "Oz". The allergens can make you feel sleepy too - just like the flowers in the movie.

OT: Texstyle, thank you, thank you, thank you for the recommendation for AE jeans. You suggested them when I was lamenting my endless and fruitless search for boyfriend jeans. I bought them in several sizes and found a great pair that I love--they aren't exactly boyfriends, but I've dubbed them my "old friend jeans" because they look like jeans that I've had for a long time which look slightly baggy and entirely fabulous on me. They got a "killer" rating from Angie. So thank you very much! You rock!

Yes I like your out fit! I really like classic combinations and leather in warm weather. I am still wearing shorts and a shirt here in sydney its 87F. No sign of cold weather as yet. the "oz" photo look a amazing. a true spring.

Those are some great shorts, Texstyle. Do you find woven shirts to be cooler than knit in that dry Texas heat?

Pil, I don't think I"ve ever worn knit shorts. I always buy woven shorts, often in denim (blue and white) and twill. I find them to be very comfortable in summer as long as they are not snug or too short.

But you are very well dressed for it indeed. It's the simple things like the strong belt and bag with the gingham that make an outfit like this work so well. I am taking notes for my summer work-at-home style.

Suz- thank you for your nice compliement and the wildflowers would be a fun challange. Do you want me to do something with it? I guess I could find some bright wildflower colors in my wardrobe and do a WIW sometime soon - not sure how you normally start the challenges.
