Wiw- black, white and cognac X4

Dear YLF,
There was a clear color scheme in the last few work outfits. It is not that I trying for it but it is just easier in the morning to hold on to one item from the previous day, like shoes, and go from there.
#1 this looked so much cuter in person. I noticed that the angle of the photos are making my skirts look longer but cannot seem to correct it.
#2- I was very happy that this pants fit again and maybe that blinded me for faults. Do they look good or are they out of fashion? Also, does the white bottom of the shirt enhances or distracts from my hips?
#3- does this look frumpy ? I like the color scheme but am not sure if it is the best look for me.
#4- how do you feel about this silhouette? If the cardigan works this way I can wear it with sleeveless dresses before the weather gets too hot.

Interesting and quite different looks.
#1: I love your sweater/top. The colours, the stripes, it's interesting, it's current, it's perfect. Besides this type of neckline suits you very well. I also like the combination of a lighter top and a darker bottom part of the outfit.
#2: Nice. You could perhaps add a necklace or other some interesting jewelry.
#3: I'm not sure what exactly is bothering me about this look, but something doesn't seem quite right. Perhaps it's the colour scheme?
#4: Wonderful! I think this silhouette looks amazing on you.

All in all you've look nice and pulled together in all your outfits, so well done.

Celia, I think the length of the skirt still looks fine in the picture, and I really like it with the striped top (seconding Tisa on the neckline).
Second outfit: these look like Modern Classic trousers to me, so not out of style. I like the sweater with the white shirt
I think I would like to see the blazer with trousers that sit a little higher on the waist. But it could just be the angle of the photo that is throwing of my view of the proportions. What do you think, Celia?

You look GREAT in skirts and dresses! And the colours you have chosen are elegant.
The striped pullover and the long cardigan both look sophisticated in a casual way. Fab!
As for #2, I do think the shirt enhances your hips. How about tucking in your shirt? ☺
As for #3, I would not call it frumpy, but I think it would look better if the jacket were opened. Nice jacket, by the way! Perhaps it would look more fab with black trousers and a black pullover?
Suggestion for your trousers outfits in general: Try wearing a top the same colour as the trousers and adding a longer, loose jacket in a different colour! ☺

#1 and #4 are my favorites...love that striped sweater! In those colors it's very office-appropriate yet still has a lot of interest. These are some of my favorite colors overall and they look terrific on you. On #3 maybe the cut of the trousers is what makes it feel frumpy to you....the wider boot cut silhouette is a little older a style I think, although its also a classic. Maybe try footwear with a bit more of a heel (if you can) or in a contrasting color. Also agree with wearing that jacket open, or try one that is a little shorter if you have one.

Inge, how I miss spending time with you. Popov was delicious and I surely have to go back You are onto something with the rise of the pants, I think the relation between the rise of the pants and the placement of the button of the blazer(that is more of a longer blazer) seems off.These are also older bootcut pants with a lower rise, maybe I should invest in higher rise pants for spring/summer.
