I like your outfits a lot, and laughed at your graphic tee.
I also tend to wear more black in summer—.like you said hides dirt, and looks nice with more exposed skin, and easier to go braless without anything showing.
In the winter I avoid black because the weather is grey and depressing.

Alice, great point about underpinnings! Black is more forgiving.

Katerina, thank you for the compliment on the necklace. It has a story! When I got engaged, my future mother-in-law gave me a coral necklace that had belonged to her mother. I was in grad school at the time, and one of my classmates was dating a jeweler. I asked her to use the coral necklace to make 3 pieces with additional gold: this necklace that I kept for myself, and a bracelet for my mother in law, and a pair of earrings (with small diamonds too) for my sister in law. That way we all share this heirloom.
The jeweler has gone on to great success in NYC and you can see her work here:

What a lovely story, Jessikams! How sweet of your MIL to give you such a beautiful present and how sweet of you to share it with her and your SIL in such a beautiful way. The necklace is gorgeous indeed.
Thank you for sharing the link - great pieces.

Great outfits and the basket is fab. I like black in summer too. There is something I like about being ever so slightly rebellious and not wearing light colours.

Love the black paired with the rust bolero!
