WIW- barrel pants, bomber jacket, rain boots, waist definition?

So I wore this daring for me outfit yesterday and now feel inspired to post it after seeing Angie's post with utility items and barrel pants, and recommending these Everlane rain boots to Jenava.
I bought another pair of G-Star c-staq boyfriend jeans that are on sale now. This time I went for a smaller size and they do something unexpected - sort of give me a waist by ballooning out over the hips. Or it least that what I think I see.
Anyway, I paired them with my (second hand) Acne cropped bomber that hits at this magical "waist". I threw on my Everlane rain boots because of rain.
What do you think? Have I pulled off a new for me silhouette? Do I need more coffee? All responses appreciated as always, thanks.

Cropped bombers are a HEWI for me, & you've shown why here - they create a great silhouette!

What colour are the boots - green or grey? 'Greige'? Regardless, they're a great neutral

Thank you all! Waist definition is so far out of my wheelhouse that this outfit really did feel daring for me. The jacket is bright green and the rain boots are more of an olive green. It is so reassuring to be able to see things through other's eyes - I appreciate all of your comments!

Didn’t you think you had a waist? It’s something I have been thinking about because with my recent post on summer dresses a lot of Fabbers talked about their fave dresses on me hitting at my natural waist and I started wondering exactly where that was. I thought perhaps between the bust and the navel? Although in the past I thought at the navel?
Wherever it is, this jacket and jeans combo seems to highlight yours! Very pretty bomber jacket. Great colour.

Jenni NZ yes, well I understood that technically I have a waist, but the way my body is shaped it never seemed that distinct from my relatively narrow hips. Add a very large twins pregnancy, menopause, and a fondness for wine and waist definition just seemed an unrealistic and unworthy a goal . Vildy any mention of Gina Lollobrigida in a response to my post is taken as a very fine compliment indeed . Suz - G-Star is definitely worth a look. They don't do the same old, same old. UmmLila - wow, you made my day. Angie - Yes! G-Star is so interesting and their jeans have such forward looking and interesting fits. And they distribute locally !

Ha! I have an apple waist as well. No twins, but 3 pregnancies plus menopause plus also a fondness for wine. Part of my 8 kg weight loss was tempering that fondness!
I might ask Angie more about waists. I searched the blog but she doesn’t actually define the term “natural waist” that I can see.

This is a super flattering look! I’ve been meaning to try G Star for a while.

Jenni Z - from what I’ve seen on a few retail websites, where they explain how to take your measurements, they say to stand in front of the mirror and bend sideways. Where your skin creases, that is the natural waist. Of course we can define our waists as we like, either higher or lower as it pleases our eye.
