WIW- August to October - YouLookFab Forum

Hi all,

I haven’t posted WIW in a long time. Here are a few looks from the last couple of months.

- farewell drinks for a colleague
- dinner out with friends
- dinner out with my son and his flatmates - same coat - different lighting!
- work old favourite
- another work look
- casual work from home
- the last three are all work looks for me as I try to look more springlike!

I have added some new transitional sandals - in a light grey. They are great for a cool spring. I also added the Agolde Pinchwaist straights - I do like them but am wondering about the length - the last three outfits feature them? They are long in the rise - longer than my ribcage Levi’s.

And I added a white tee - funnily enough a risky piece for me as I have struggled with them in the past.

I have had a year of mostly essential purchases. So getting dressed has been easy. But I need to add in a few more bold fun things as well - especially for the winter.

Ideas, comments and feedback are welcome!!

Thanks Olivegreen! I do always think about my combinations and if they work. I try hard to get the proportions balanced - the forum has helped with that. I am not quite there always but improving!!

The blush pink coat combo is very chic, you look great in the soft pink florals, and I really like those grey sandals. Haha I see a cute denim & ditsy in the mix too.

Your last outfit is my kind of outfit. I like the black shirt and black shoes combo. I think the length is modern but let see what Angie says. They are 90s style and that was how we wore them then too. I wear my BF jeans happily now with a bit of scrunch. Love the new sandals. I am sure they are going to be super versatile.

Sally I just love that dress in #1. So fresh on you! And anything you wear with that coat looks sensational! I think you need a spring/ fall topper that is just as brilliant. Love the new shoes, too. The low contrast with ankle strap is very flattering.

I love how you wear the soft pinks and camels in the first set. Very pretty and Spring like. And I like the addition of the graphic bag in the second set. Adds some punch. I too struggle with a white tee. But jeans + white tee is just a such a good combo. Hard to resist.

Looking as fab as ever, Sal! I like the early '90s vibe of the white tee, jacket, and jeans! I can see the graphic tote work well with that look too.

Nice new sandals in pretty neutral color - works in every outfit! My fav are dress in #1 and both looks with camel coat. In second group the white&black looks with fab patterned bag are lovely and remind me of '90s in a best way ( I'm happy they are back ).

Thanks Minaminu - I am not good at sticking to one palette of colours - I think mixing them is fun.

Star - thanks! I plan to keep the jeans this length at least for a month or so and then make a call. I am used to slightly cropped lengths now so my eye is adjusting.

Thanks Irina - I have a black tee in this same style that I like. I have tried and failed with white tees several times - either by staining them or by just not liking them. So we will see!!

Bonnie - I love the dresses too - the shirt dress was a great buy four years ago - I have found it very useful!

Suz - I have enjoyed these sandals - perfect for cool spring. Spring here is so unpredictable - whilst I do enjoy it it's hard to gauge what to wear.

Thanks Brooklyn. I do like the pinks and camels, as long as they don't veer too soft. I suspect the white tee will mostly be worn under jackets and blazers - rather than alone. This brand (AS colour) is very affordable and good quality - by favourite place to get essentials. They have a huge range of colours - in fact some of the colours might be of interest to you.

Thanks Angie! I can't remember what bag I used that day - sometimes I only take my work backpack which I don't use in photos as it is very boring..

Thank you Slim Cat. I wasn't that fond of the 90s fashions- maybe because I had so few clothes and really struggled to find my style. I look back at it now though and think how efficient a dresser I was - I repeated ALL the time.

Thanks Joy! For me they are perfect from September to November and again March and April, which ends up being almost half the year.

Wow, I want those new transitional grey sandals!!! I have had some grey flatform Mary Janes with same toe like yours, and loved them! Love all your wiw's, my faves from here are those with the coats!

I love the first three looks especially, I think because I am currently very into light camel tones and you look splendid in them! But everything looks great, including the new white t-shirt look! Are you wondering if the jeans are too long? They look good to me, but I am definitely not a pants length specialist :).
