Humm along as you read my post....

Anyway back to the serious stuff. Bit of an uninspired week:
Photo 1 - WIW 24 Apr - cobalt blue cardi (Portmans), polka dot cardi swallowing blouse (Glassons), black trousers (Portmans), black bag & shoes (Novo), silver cuff & necklace and hoop ear-rings - note to self reconsider cardi eating blouse

Photo 2 - WIW 26 Apr - geez looks like a rerun of 1 but it's not - navy ruffle blouse (Jacqui-e), purple (looks like cobalt but isn't) cardi (David Lawrence), wide-leg grey trousers (Max), grey suede heels, can't recall what bling I had on.

Photo 3& 4 - Casual Friday - it was raining - grey jacket (David Lawrence), slim straight jeans, cobalt chiffon poncho top with inbuilt cami (doesn't photograph well as you can't see that it is transparent enough to show the shape of your body without being rude), bronze flats (Sachi), silver cuff and chandelier ear-rings.

Photo 5 - 7 - winter hair growth goal - Vic Beck Bob to keep my ears warm before chopping it off in the Summer.

Struggling a bit to transition my style to Winter. My rubric is:
Contrast -bright winter colours or large patterns near my face & darker colours obscuring the nether regions
Romantic - floaty, body skimming, boho, embroidery, silk, chiffon
Pretty/Sparkly- big earrings,cuffs,pendants -some type of bling.

Suggestions welcome.

Kiwichik, I think you had quite an inspired week!

#1 is very glamorous looking. Great color and I like the effect of the cardi eatimg blouse.

#2 similar but different, I like this silhouette very much.

#3 is lovely. Where is the poncho from? It's quite striking. Love it.

And I think your hair would look great at VB's length, but I do love it the wY you wear it now. Ot suits you, is tres chic and very cool.

There's nothing wrong with like blue and black. I think the VB hair will be fabulous on you!

You also look fantastic is any shade of purple or cobalt blue - this should be your signature colour! I adore the shape of the poncho on you.

Wow ladies I was feeling a bit blah about my wardrobe choices this week & after reading your comments feel so much better.

Deb the poncho is from a NZ department store - Farmers (smaller scale version of Myers) & is their home brand - Ignite.

The poncho was my favourite look this week - drew lots of compliments as I wafted around the office (I'm lucky that I can wear almost anything to work).

Poncho is bold and fun and an amazing color. I like your haircut as you show in the pics. I recently had my nearly shoulder length growing out bob angled with the longer part in front and I do like it but I tend to push my hair around during the day and the longer part looks odd when I tuck it or move it away from face - just a thought.

Good grief, we just *have* to see you in inspired mode sometime soon, if this is what your *uninspired* is like!

Either that cobalt is your signature colour, like Kirti said, or you are super coordinated through the week. Is that to make laundry easier or is it capsule dressing? All of the above?

I can't imagine that stunning poncho *not * drawing comment, but I have to say how much I love the first two layered outfits as well. Choosing a favourite proved beyond my abilities, so I refuse to even try.

Thanks Mandipa I think I was just feeling a bit bored with my usual work uniform and I got to bust out with the cape on Friday.

The cobalt theme wasn't intetntional but is one of my fav colours

This is one of my favorite colors, too! These looks show a certain "signature style," and I think your rubric is shining through. I love the idea of you "wafting" around the office -- must be the diva in me.

The anorak is terrific -- both practical and modern, which isn't easy to accomplish, and I think the longer length in the hair will work. My angled cut is longer than this, and I don't have the problems that Christianne had, although I'm wondering if I'll like it so well in the heat of summer!

BTW -- Didn't you just buy a pencil skirt? I think the top/sweater in #2 would be fab paired with it!

BTW Kiwichik - I had that song in my head ALL DAY after reading your post!!!

I have a version of that bob and ADORE it. Mine is more extreme but it gives me the joy of length with the ease of short.

Beth Ann you have a good memory - yes I just bought a pencil skirt but haven't gotten up the nerve to wear it yet.

Shannon - oops sorry about that hope you know more than the first line or it would have driven you insane having that on constant loop in your head.

Una I have been admiring your haircut so I hope I have the patience to keep growing mine - I like the idea of it swishing round my face.

Just wanted to say that you look superb in cobalt and black, and also that I absolutely love you hair! I'm sure that you'll look great in the Pob as well, but I REALLY love yours right now.
