I got some combat boots for a Halloween costume - going as myself circa 1991. I figured if I bought something, it may as well be something I can wear on other days, and I wanted these boots anyway. (I also got an oversized Pearl Jam tee, and already have flannel.)

Anyway, these outfits are unusually muted colors for me, but I like them. The pants were yesterday, and the dress today.

In #1, I think the top needs to be hemmed, but I haven’t had time and have been indecisive about it. I couldn’t get a petite size. It’s from J Crew Factory - I love many of their tops, but they run long and narrow for my curvy, short waisted frame when I can’t get a petite size. My tailor often balks at how much I have to take off, so it takes convincing.

The coat in #4 pulls a bit for the same reason (also from Factory), but I loved it and sizing up would have made it ridiculous on top. I often have this problem with coats and don’t really want to pay NYC prices to alter one. Maybe someday. This coat isn’t uncomfortable, anyway. I need this splash of color as the weather finally starts to get colder.

ETA: I'm super bored with my hair. I'm no good at styling it, and it looks messy when I casually pull it back. I can't chop it too short, as I think it wouldn't suit me. On the other hand, by husband wants me to grow it out, which is also a pain.I suppose that's a topic for another post...
