WIW - wide pants, and the greatest hair tool ever

Hi all, sorry to post so much but it's rare I have anything new-looking to show!

Here are the wide leg pants I got from H&M - these are a steal at $19.99 Cdn and I love them. I think they would look good with heels too, and they are pretty comfy. The waist is VERY high but I will wear them with fitted shirts untucked to accommodate my short waist.

Also, I am not sure if the Revlon hair dryer brush has been discussed on the forum, but just a glowing recommendation from me. If I let me hair dry to about 50% dry, I can then do a blow-out in about 5 or 6 minutes with this thing. No products or straightener needs, and it stays in great shape all day. It's the best gadget I've ever purchased hands-down - I think I would even choose it over my air-fryer haha!

Ooh lala! Nice hair! Love the pants too - I've ordered a few items from ON lately (jeans, pants) and they don't seem to fit me quite right . Which is too bad because the price is right for those of us on a budget...

Kyle, thanks so much for sharing the link! I think it's pretty much available at most of the usual suspects - Walmart, Shopper's Drug Mart, I think Costco had it too (I got mine off Amazon Canada). Kelly, I am usually a little more tentative with recommendations but this one is a 10++++ for sure.

Lisa, have a try at H&M? They seem to have lots of gems at the moment. My jeans were only $50 and these only $20.

You look elegantly casual from head to toe. I have the Revlon dryer and love it, but I always use ear plugs as it is quite loud and hearing loss is not reversible.

Nancy, that's a good point - do you find it worse than a regular hair dryer? In any case, a good tip to remember, probably for any noisy appliance!

Love the whole look! I adore the fit of those pants, but alas, I have low hopes for anything that high waisted on me, and I doubt H&M cuts for my shape anyway, LOL. I would love to find more wide-leg pants, but I'm having a tough time finding some with the right details: enough length, correct fit in hips and thighs, mid rise, no pleats, not too thin or thick, and easy care. Yeah, I'm not demanding, am I?

Your hair looks great too. I'm not straightening mine these days -- somehow these tools don't work with my layers so well. Otherwise I'd be jumping on that tool too.

I do find it to be louder than my regular hairdryer, I was shocked at how loud it was, but after one use I knew I wouldn’t be giving it up! I keep cheap foam earplugs nearby and they seem to be enough of a buffer for comfort.

Your hair looks fantastic. I have that hair tool, and it does a great job. The only drawback for me is that it gets so darn hot, even on the low setting, that it scares me about using it too often. I save it for when I’m in a big hurry, or for travelling.

I am liking those pants on you!

What I am noticing in pants-browsing is that for full-length pants and chunkier footwear--sneakers and even most boots,now that not wearing dressing or pointier toes--it really takes a wider pant, hem at least, than what I have been wearing or looking at as "straights". A trouser style, a bootcut that is more than the popular mini-bootcut. Something to keep in mind, because I am not as fond of the "short-long pant" for myself.

Your pants look really great--the fit is perfection! Khakis are looking fresh to me at the moment, maybe it's my inner preppie that gets so excited about back-to-school shopping, with fall around the corner :). Your hair looks lovely too.

Unfrumped, yes and a try on with an open mind is essential because as I adjust from slim styles these pants looks MASSIVE on the hanger and then I put them on and they don't feel that way ... Still looser of course but not ridiculous which is what I feared!!

Wow, those pants really work for you. Fresh and modern look. Elegantly casual - is there such a thing Your hair is stunning, like you just stepped out of a salon. I am intrigued with this gadget. I swear by my GHD hair straightener but have to wait for my hair to be 100 percent dry before I use it. Does it really create volume as it says? I don't really need that.

Star, for me the dryer does not really create volume unless that’s what I want. I have to make a concerted effort to achieve volume with products and technique.I find it’s best on days when I want a sleek, smooth finish. Also, as others have mentioned, the dryer is loud and it gets hot…like crazy hot. So I’m careful to let my hair air dry as long as possible and use a heat protectant before applying any heat.

Star, I find the same as Kyle ... if I want a bit of volume I'll take a section at the crown and use the brush to lift it up and back ... but it more creates a nice smooth finish on my hair and takes the frizz out without needing a flat iron (I always needed to flat iron even after a blowdry with my regular blow dryer).

I do find it hot too but I think that because it's so quick, it's still better than a regular blow dry and the straightener, and my hair seems to be less dry with this tool. I was once told by a hair stylist that the friction of styling is just as bad as the heat - so better a high heat for short, than a lesser heat with extra time and steps - no idea how scientific that is, but again for my hair it seems to be working! I do let my hair air dry as much as possible before using though, to minimize heat exposure and time.

Unfortunately, both the jeans and pants are sold out in every size. Ugh, my favorite style of jeans! I’m glad that cut is in and I will be sure to get some (or many) somewhere. Also unfortunate that our local H&M closed last spring, eliminating yet another B&M from local shopping options.

Hoping the ones I ordered from Old Navy this morning fit and look the way I want.

Ah - oops , I read Old Navy and not H&M . I don’t really shop at H&M - as Janet says , the cuts are not for my body shape .
