I did not get a chance to take pictures every day this week, but here is what I have.

I finally got out my favorite red bag - I like wearing it when the weather is warm. I prefer cross body bags but I think the strap on this is shorter than it should be for a cross body. What do you think?

#2 is my new favorite - Kelly's Nick and Zoe knit blazer.

#3 is what I wore today. Funny story - on another forum that I participate in (not fashion-oritented but a general "women's" group - someone asked for advice on comfortable shoes of long hours of walking. I posted a link to these Born oxfords, and got a comment "comfort does not mean I have to wear old lady shoes". I actually find these shoes to be cool in a retro kind of way and as a bonus they are extremely comfortable so I decided to pair them with the cobalt jeans for a change of pace (normally I wear these jeans with a bit of a heel).

I think cross body strap lengths vary from person to person. Since I'm IT, I like it to hit me at the low hip, since I need curves there and less focus on my tummy area. (Actually that's why I rarely wear cb bags because it intersects my apple-y tummy.)

The blazer in #2 looks fun with that polka dot blouse!

Makrame, very smart, polished looks with a sharp dose of pep. Loving the green apple and red, and the cobalt and black and red colour combinations, and the red-black-white is a no-brainer success.

In #2, love how the band of the top and the toes of the shoes play off each other. Very clever bookending there! But my favourite is #3 --- absolutely adore the pattern mixing and that fun scarf. Love the way you've tied it.

AJ --- Ha! I personally like CBs to cut up the apple I got!

I prefer cross-body bags to sit under the hip bone usually, but I do find I quite like the streamlined feel of a smaller bag tucked higher up near the waistline

Your red CB bag is the bomb! I like mine to sit lower---at the level of #1, but when it's crossbody. It's really a personal preference....

Oxfords are definitely not old lady! But that's the thing about retro---it's old fashioned by nature so some will view as purely old fashioned.

Remember the Worishofer sandal craze? Those were retro, old-lady, AND cool!

Isis, I must have missed the Worishofer sandal story at the time, but you are right, they do have the retro-cool vibe, too!

I agree with those who say they generally prefer the cross body bags to sit lower on the hip - it's too bad I cannot lengthen the strap on this one.

Manidipa, thanks for the compliment on the scarf-tying - I am working on learning new knots and borrowed the idea for this one from MaryK's outfit photos - I think she often uses what looks like a "figure 8 knot". I like it more than my old standby "Euro-loop" since it looks more deliberate.

Love your nautical skirted outfit. I like the bag but agree it looks better as a shoulder bag than cross body style. However, often practicality over rules fashion so don't hesitate to wear it across your body when you need to! The strap isn't *that* short.

You have long legs, so wearing those cobalt pants with flats works well on you. I like the way the outfit looks without the scarf. (Which you will hear me say 9 x out of 10 as I have an anti-scarf bias. So take it with a grain.)

All three outfits are nicely done. I can understand why the bright blazer is a new favorite - looks incredible and so versatile.
Cross bodys are so hard! I have a hard time with them between the strap sitting in middle of bust line and bag hitting the belly - mostly I go for arm bag or a really long strap on cross body so I can do a hip sling. Yours does not look short but it's an individual thing.

Great outfits! I love my "old lady" oxfords too. =) (Actually I just bought the Arlettas in the distressed gold, and they are most definitely not old lady shoes. Or maybe they are, but super-cool-RATE old lady.)

The crossbody strap length looks fine to me. This is the length I actually prefer for comfort, although I usually wear mine with the bag in back/side. If the strap is too long, it bumps all over my pear when I walk. I like the bag to sit on my butt shelf.

Wow! Very cute! I love your color blocking in pic 1, very inspiring. I prefer the bag crossbody too. Pic 2 is simply adorable. Pic 3: shoes are not old lady like at all. They look like comfortable, sensible shoes.

You look great, and it seems like you're becoming more confident and consistently fab in your stylings! #1 is my favorite, but they all have wonderful use of pattern and color! As for the oxfords -- I wished I had some today, I only have ballet flats and wish I had a pair of oxfords for some variety! I love yours!

My favorite is #1 but all these look great on you. I can't see the shoes that well to comment on them except that they bookend your dark hair very nicely.

I really like all three outfits! I would love a pair of cobalt pants! The shoes don't look oldlady to me.
