WIW - Utility/Military Style - YouLookFab Forum

It's back to cool weather here in the foothills of the Sierra-Nevadas. This is an example of where I got the look right the first time, then kept tweaking it. I ended up wearing version #2. I couldn't fit the vest underneath the jacket so #3 is an attempt to to reverse layer, which is a fail I think.

#1 -- TR skinny jeans in "hot lead." James Perse sweatshirt style tee; Utility vest from Macy's Impulse dept. Rag & Bone booties; Cheap Monday bracelet and white Fossil watch which was a birthday present.

#2 -- Removed the Cheap Monday bracelet and wore a Cheap Monday necklace instead. Also rolled the jeans. Wore this version.

#3 -- ALGO version featuring the addition of an Urban Outfitters jacket and reverse layering.

I'm surprising myself by liking the ALGO version and the rolled version best. You look great in all of these though.

I prefer the uncluttered neckline of 1 but I love both 1/2. I like 3 but would remove the vest. It seems redundant. The grey skinnies are awesome on you, btw.

I like them all - not sure I can pick which one I like best. I guess I do prefer the necklace but rolled or unrolled jeans works for me (unrolled seems easier to me with the booties though).

I like all versions. I prefer the necklace to the bracelet, though. I'm finding myself doing less utility, but think doing it this way - with just one standout piece - is how I'm going to go forward, keeping the rest simple.

Firstly, you have a fabulous figure! and secondly I like 1 and 2 best. I may be erring to the rolled jeans though.

I don't know that there is any wrong here. No fails, certainly. I like them all and the reverse layering on the third is so cool, and like Angie says, it fits in with your environment so well. You're another one who looks really good in scoop necklines, lucky you!

Such a great outfit, it's hard to pick a favourite version, but I do love the necklace in 2.

I love all of them too, maybe #3 a little more than the other two. I don't know why, but I prefer the necklace with #3 over #2. Your sure can wear skinny jeans!

I am so surprised that #3 got as much love as it did.

VC, that is Maggie my lab who loves getting in the picture, but is hard to photograph. I have one other lab (chocolate) and a Border Collie and a tabby cat. And we now have 5 horses, two of them senior citizens who have retired from trail riding due to bad feet. People don't know what to do when their horse is no longer useful for riding and we take them back (they were both horses my brother sold). They are so happy to be back where they were born.

Love that vest Denise. All versions look great but I have a particular fondness for #1 - for some reason I prefer the bracelet to the necklace. I really like the clean lines of the top and vest without the necklace.

Very inspirational, and no failures at all. I think I like all versions, maybe with a slight preference for the bracelet, not necklace, but it's really not important. I love the silhouette, colors and your ability to look completely at ease and so infinitely chic.

I like the clean look of the first one best. The third look with the layering is pretty interesting. I think I would like to see it in motion. How nice that you take the horses back and that they remember.

I agree with you that I like #1 the best, but the vest over the jacket was really creative. I think it would have totally worked if at least one of the layers hung longer than the others, to keep from being as topheavy/cut in half.
