WIW - two of my recent everyday looks

Nothing special, but I thought I'd show what my casual everyday outfits look like these days. And for the sake of completeness, my stylish "handbag" I'm carrying around at least three days a week.

This is me getting dressed for comfort and without thinking too much about my outfit. That would have looked very different two years ago...

I often wear a plain top with a patterned scarf, and now I'm inspired to try a patterned top with a plain scarf. Nice look, and thanks for the idea.

Well, I have a great big soft spot for that ikat top, especially when paired with green on you, *and* for that unusually trimmed jacket! So, how can I not love both these great looks?

You look delightfully coordinated for 'comfort outfits'. Clearly, you've hit your style stride big-time there, when it starts to feel effortless in the everyday.

The ikat print is really pretty and looks great with the olive scarf! I also love how you can wear those flirty little skirts with the denim jacket and tights and look so fresh and pretty!

Love that ikat top as well! You do look comfortable but well put together. It's great to have built a closet with things that work for you so you don't have to work hard to look good. Does that make sense lol?

Thanks Harmonica! I had to search a bit to find a picture where you can see my entire outfit, I was not in the habit of taking outfit pictures then. I wouldn't say I looked horrible, but my clothes were certainly boring and not fashionable. I read some time in the forum before I started posting, so my first YLF pictures are a bit more interesting. Although even they look awkward in retrospect.

Astrid - you look adorable in the photo you added. I actually like that outfit too. Simple and sort of clean, and the scarf lifting the whole outfit. But I can also see that your recent outfit is much bolder in terms of pattern, layers, siluette. For me it kind of resonates with Suz vetaran post the other day where she looked back at her style journey. Very interesting, enlightening and fun!

I had to go back and see if I could find some photos from before I started my style renewal (a year or two before YLF). You said it - awkvard

Thanks Una! I would have probably worn the denim/black/white/purple combination, but never the first color combination. And I wouldn't have worn a skirt, or any other pattern than strpes for sure.

Thanks Aida! I hope you all won't get tired of seeing that top on me, I have so few at the moment that it probably will be worn often this summer.

Thanks Harmonica! I agree, it's always interesting and fun to see where the different people come from. I can say that simple and clean are still things I like, and scarves of course. If I say boring, I mean I only wore blue or black denim with one solid color and a neutral. I wouldn't wear two colors together and if I had a patterned item (only stripes) the other items were solid. I would only wear maxi skirts because I didn't felt like I could show my legs and most of my tops were these layering shirts like the one above, with either short or long sleeves. And I only wore bootcuts!

Thanks Deborah! I guess the change has been so slow that I had time to get used to looking this way. But I think this slow development was a good thing in my case, everything I ever wore on my style journey felt rather natural to me.

These looks are so totally awesome on you and to think how they were put together without too much thought going into in says how awesome your style journey has become.

You are definately the scarf person that I look to when thinking about scarves and outfits and your new bag really hits the right note. Love the new top too.
