Thank you lindalu - hope to see your hair soon!
Fashintern - No I wouldn't say I chase trends, rather I enjoy them!

Thanks for answering about your job! Flexible hours are so great aren’t they?- I wish mine were even more so.
I did recently get my first ever amount of consignment money from the vintage store- about $45 for the beautiful Thai silk skirt from 1988. I hope that the buyer is happy and enjoys wearing it. It’s the skirt in the photo below. It was a real wrench giving it up and that my girls didn’t want it
So the money softens the loss a bit- I hadn’t fitted it for about 20 years I would say. But the better feeling is that because the purchaser paid good money for it perhaps she will love it? IDK. The jacket has not sold yet...if it doesn’t I will bring it home again.
What does one do then?

Am amazed again about your trifting abilities-you have a good eye, or...you simply make everything look trendy on your body (=high performance styling abilities+ gorgeous hair). YLF in these jeans!

Jenni once it comes back from consignment I either bring it to another shop with lower prices, or in this case one that is more vintage oriented. Or just donate. That picture is priceless!
lyn67 - Aww, shucks- thank you! I do think I have a good eye - for not posting my total fails .

You look fab. I think your style is unique and fashion forward. Kind of trendy but beyond trends. You have a great eye.

I don’t see myself as a trendy dresser. The current silhouette, longer lengths and colour trends suit me but I struggled when it was all about skinny jeans, cropped pants and cool colours. I used to spend a ridiculous amount of time looking for tunic tops that were around 32-34 inches long (thigh covering) and in a warm colour to make the then trendy skinny look work for me. Now I just try to pick the trends I like and ignore the others.

Your outfit looks great and I like the pants the way they are, but would belt if the slide down bothers you. I think you give nod to the trends by DYOT. You make the trends suit your style. The trends don’t dictate your style. There is a big difference. You own your style and that is why you always look fab!

You are just inherently cool. Anything you wear will look fab.

You have effortless cool, which is beyond trends!

Angie's called me a "trendy classic" and I suspect it fits because I love to play with trends that appeal to me (though not all do). I ASPIRE to have style like yours, though -- personal, idiosyncratic, unerringly fab. Someday I will get there!

Sorry to bump this again, but I had to thank you all for the generous comments.
Brooklyn - "pick the trends I like and ignore the others" is a great mantra and really what style is all about, which you demonstrate beautifully!
Mainelady - Right back at you. And thank you!
JAileen - I can't wait to tell my kids what you said, they will be shocked !
Suz - Ha! Not only are you already there, you are sipping a glass of red wine and I just hope I can come meet you!

eta Kari wow, you made my day with your comment! Thank you!

“dedicated thrifter whose puzzle solving mind is delighted to find current trends in second hand clothing” is spot-on for you and such an inspiring, brilliant statement. I LOVE thinking of you combing through hidden treasures and putting them together like pieces of a puzzle. That’s awesome!
