WIW - travel outfit and new sandals

We are getting ready to travel to the last destination of this month long trip. I went shopping here but only thing I bought are this white wedge sandals. I still don't like this shorts but they will be comfortable for 6 hours car ride in the heat. They will probably get donated as soon as I am back home.

Love the colour combo. And you look chic. Fab sandals.

Personally, I don't feel comfortable wearing shorts in a car (or a bus or a train or a plane for that sake) in the heat. I dislike the feeling of my thighs sticking to the seat ... I would prefer wearing a breezy skirt or a pair of trousers/crops in a thin fabric. But of course, your car seats may be more comfortable than most others, or perhaps you will sit on a plaid, a towel or something else.

Your outfit looks vacation/travel friendly, although I am personally veering away from shorts and towards skirts or skorts instead. I love your sandals. They look comfortable and stylish for a long day of summer travel. I would like to see a pic with your handbag too. It looks like it complements everything else you are wearing.

The Cat, thank you, I never thought about sticking to the car seat, but fortunately it was not the issue for me. I will not wear shorts in public transport but only in my own car.

Elizabeth P, maybe it is not visible well i. the picture, but this shorts is not fitting me well, especially arround crotch. And I can wear them only with the belt, i can take them off without unbuttoning. I did not have experience with J Crew sizing and I consulted size chart when ordering. I am between 8 and 10 according to size chart and I went with 10 thinking that for shorts it is better if they are not too tight. But now it sems smaller size would be better.
Staysfit, thank you. I don't have experience with skorts, but I think I understand the concept. I never saw the skort in the real life, it may be that is not so popular in Europe?

Thank you Dianna, I am now starting to second guess my decision to donate this shorts.

I have to share the cutest compliment that I just got for my new sandals. I was walking towards my hotel room and behind me there were little girl holding her mother hand. She was maybe about 3 years old, and she was admiring my sandals out loud saying to her mother that she should buy the same. Her mother replied to her that she is to young for this shoes. And little girl replied - it is for you, mommy.

What a fun outfit with the red shorts and polka dot top! I think the shorts look great on you. I usually size up when buying shorts because I like my shorts to fit slightly baggy - just like yours. I think it's cooler in the heat.

This is a lovely travel outfit. If you aren't a shorts fan (I only own 2 pairs myself and we have 3 months of hot days in my area) maybe cropped pants would be better? I have cropped chinos that are perfect in the heat because the material is lighter than denim.

I am really surprised that shorts got so much approval
I like my shorts baggy for confort in the heat but don't like wearing a belt with them. And those will not stay up without a belt. But they can be probably taken in at the waist, so instead of donating I will bring them to my tailor. Thank you all for helping me with the decision.
