WIW - too many coats, too little winter

I find coats and boots irresistible, but only have about 3 months to wear them.

Anyway:
#1-2. Typical outfit, basically my uniform these days, but I do love these blue boots (I tried to capture the color and pattern in #2). And the sweater - thank you Angie!
#3. I get compliments on this coat even though I think it is a bad color on me. Would be happy for your opinions.
#4. Another extremely typical outfit. The coat is vintage and blue!
#5. I am very bad at capturing colors, but this jacket is blue, almost purple, velvet. It is also vintage. Apparently I have a blue vintage coat addiction.
#6. Ok, for me this has too much going on. I have been wearing this floppy burgundy hat for over 5 winters and I am planning to update my winter hat collection with something more stiff brimmed and navy.

So what do you say - more thrown together or more elegant tomboy? Feel free to suggest items that should be purged or anything else!

Shevia, each of these look good. #1 is a fab formula for you. Is that the Gap sweater? I love it on you:)

#3I agree is maybe not the best colour but it is flattering. The cut and length of the coat is very cool looking.

#4 looks very classic and timeless.

#5 I would love to see worn open

#6 is a beautiful shape and again quite classic.

Shevia, I think you are my style muse. As much as I aspire to acquire the urban prince/princess button down tidiness my lifestyle always gets in the way. I love your take on classic pieces (everything's classic at my age) Always enjoy your WIW. Wish I could pull it together as effortlessly as you do.

Shevia, I wish we only had three mths of winter - it usually starts snowing in Oct. / Nov., and we don't see the grass again until sometime in April
I like all the coats on you, with the style of #3 being my fav, but the color being my least fav. I also love your vintage coats! I agree with Deborah, I would like to see #5 worn open.
I do think it's time to move on to another hat - perhaps one with a narrower brim?
And I love the YLF sweater, I have one too!

Thanks for your feedback! Deborah and Karie I might try that jacket open but I tend to avoid open boxy shapes because I think they look bad on me. That jacket is definitely up for possible purge, but it is a great color. Alas, the coat in #3 isn't - although I do like it in every other way. Suzyq I am very flattered to be called anyone's muse. Luckily tidiness is not one of my style goal because that I would never pull off!

It is no wonder that #1 has become a uniform of sorts. It suits you brilliantly and looks sensational! Just LOOK at those BOOTS. Wow. What a find.

Love the cut and shape of #3. It may not be the best colour but you wear it so well it is not surprising that others do not notice.

#4 looks great - classic and simple.

I really like the vintage jacket. Do those pants have subtle pattern? The shoes are incredible! I just love the whole outfit, to tell you the truth.

As for #6...I understand and accept that it felt like too much going on for you, but I actually love it, and I feel surprised about that....I guess because, with the romantic, feminine, glamorous or boho floppy hat, it doesn't quite match your usual style persona. And yet I kept thinking of certain iconic photos...and then not being able to remember who I had in mind. Weirdly enough the name Jean Shrimpton came up!

There is something in you that can wear these 60s to early 70s- inspired looks really well. I remember the Jackie O look from a while back.

You have the best "thrown together" style I have seen. It's amazing how you can look RATE, Tomboy and Elegant all at once. Not easy! It's natural for you, otherwise it would not come off so successfully. I love your style, Shevia

I like the colour of #3 on you! But your blue vintage coat steals the show. #4 and #5 are KILLER. Also loving the croc boots over baggy denim.

But #6 is KILLER to the power of KILLER. A modern Ali McGraw with a whole lot of gentle spunk.

What an amazing collection of coats you have Shevia. And I love you in all of them! Your clothes just fit your style so well, there is just such an effortlessness to all your looks. I have boots that seem quite similar to yours. Mine are a black croc stamped patent maybe with slightly less of a heel. I get compliments whenever I wear them.

I love all of these! Fantastic collection of coats. The velvet in #5 sounds very sensual.

My favorite is also #6. I wonder why it felt like too much going on? The boots toughen up the girly coat....the wide brim of the hat echos the flair of the coat...I love the color of the hat. It's really great! Maybe it'll grow on you?

Goodness! I had to respond to such surprising fondness for my floppy headed look. Suz you are such a doll (is that a 60s phrase or earlier even?)! I love your pictures and will have to google Jean Shrimpton (of course I have heard of her but I am no expert) to see what her look is about. Tina, these heels are high for me, but I can tolerate higher heels in boots than shoes, and could not resist their magnificent blueness. They are Janet & Janet bought new condition but cheaply at a consignment shop. Thanks Isis! You give me lots of style inspiration and ask a good question that I will have to think about. Angie! Well, I am just floored and tickled pink by your sweet words. K to the power K?!! In celebration I might have to start a thread on what is thrown together/effortless style because you know I am not even sure myself.

Ah, so this is the post that sparked your other thread. I love that chunky (Gap?) sweater with the tall boots on you. I'm crazy about your tousled curls. I always think you look very French, a la Parisian Chic.
