Hello.

In preparation for the holiday season I cut a few inches off my hair because, well, why not!

For those in the US, I hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving.

#1 to #3 - Cinnamon Joggers and Spice Girl Tee
One last outfit with my Pumpkin Spice Girl tee for fall. It's time for me to pull out my Christmas tees now!

#4 to #6 - Lucky Brand Sweet Mid Rise Bootcut Jeans and Butterfly Tee
I haven't worn bootcut jeans in years, but I'm really enjoying the extra scrunch of these Lucky Brand Sweet Mid Rise Bootcut jeans I picked up earlier this season.

#7 to #9 - Lucky Brand Sweet Mid Rise Bootcut Jeans and Fall Love Truck Life is Good Tee

I enjoyed the bootcut and cardigan outfit so much I repeated it with my Life is Good Fall Love Truck tee.

#10 to #12 - Liverpool Crop Wide Leg Twill Pants and Rails Millie Floral Cardigan
This was my Thanksgiving day outfit. The Franco Sarto booties are so comfortable, I own them in three colors, a black pair from last year's style, and this year I picked two more, the red worn in this WIW post, and the white pair worn for Thanksgiving.

I like these booties because the toe box is generous, the heel height is low, and I can wear them all day. They are so comfortable I have even worn them on planes.

My son and family hosted Thanksgiving this year. I brought a few things over but it really made things easir.. It was cold with snow on the ground. Boots felt right.

Joy - That's nice you were able to bring a dish and relax for Thanksgiving. It was my turn for the cooking this year.

Star - It's been really fun wearing lots of fall colors this year, they've been a nice change from my heavy blue based wardrobe.

Sisi - The pink flowers in the garden are cosmos. Some of them are as large as my hand!

Olive Green - I agree, when I cut my hair short is really changes the vibe of my outfits. It's amazing the difference a haircut can make. I cut my hair myself and I'm just too lazy to keep up with keeping it short though, so I often end up doing a bigger chop when I cut it.

Very cute! That color palette suits you well. Your hair looks good too. I’ve been trying to let mine grow a little, but end up needing to chop my bangs and top layers a bit, and I’m always a bit on the conservative side doing it myself, LOL.

Jenni NZ - Rails has really hit it out of the park for me for sweaters this season. Indeed, the floral daisy cardigan I have also has a fun flower print to it (I included in the finds).

I started growing out my grays 6-7 years ago and I'm 100% frustrated with my hair. No matter how short I cut it, the greys just never seem to fill out the bottom half, so I always look like I'm growing it out.

Maybe I just have extremely slow growing hair? Or the greys keep breaking before they get too long?

I suppose I could try an even shorter length to see if that evens out the color but I'm not really interested in going shorter than what I have now. Alas, I am stuck with the uneven look unless it either grows longer or I finally cave and go even shorter.

Janet - I find cutting hair myself is a challenge and it's one reason why I don't maintain the shorter length, I'm just too lazy to cut it frequently. I also find it easier to cut when I let it grow a few inches before doing a cut.

Thanks, after my previous reply I had added the daisy cardigan and the floral one to my own Finds. I don’t order from the US to New Zealand although a lot of your stores will ship here. The exchange rate is a big problem, I think recently 1 NZ dollar is only worth around 58 US cents. I am also not that happy about shipping parcels across the world just for me? I do it from Australia for shoes at times though…I’m not sure if I am being any more sustainable by not doing it since so many of our clothes and shoes are imported anyway. It’s a personal discomfort with it I suppose.
The way I use Finds is to get an overview of the kinds of things that constantly catch my eye. When I look back on them, I can see heaps of pleated skirts, refined booties, etc. I don’t own a longer pleated skirt but my tulle skirt probably fills the same role.
I sympathise about your greys not growing down far enough! My most grey area (it’s white now) is right at the front, so I am not sure what would happen if my hair were not always in a pixie cut. Good on you for coping with it! Some of these things are hard to cope with (I wrote a huge post about grey hair in 2023 when I was thought to be much older than I am).

Jenni NZ - A low exchange rate is a good reason not to order internationally. Why pay more for something if you don't really have too. I wish you luck in your search for a similar style daisy cardigan!

I understand grey hair making someone look older. It also causes a lot of judgement sometimes. When I first started growing it out years ago I got a LOT of pushback from both men and women, in both professional and personal settings. I was quite surprised by that, but clearly those opinions didn't matter, because I haven't dyed my hair in many years. I wish it was more uniform in color and I actually think the greys are striking to look at. It's certainly more unique, because no two people will have the exact same grey haired pattern. Each person's greys are unique.

I think the bottom half of your hair has probably not greyed at all and that is why your pattern is what it is. Although my hair is fully silver the very lower nape is still fully dark brown! It doesn't show unless I wear a ponytail. This is when I don't apply copper toner of course. I recently cut my hair myself too and am pleased with the result.
