The lovely Elly sent me this Sanctuary scarf-pattern shirt, and I decided to debut it today for a casual day of studio work and errands. I think it may be a better proportion for jeans than shorts, but I decided it's JFE for me. I tried a semi-tuck, but the placket stuck out in a funny way at my belly, so I abandoned that idea and just let it hang free. Worn with old Kut navy chinos cut off into clamdigger shorts.

I have to credit Viva for the shoes, and Anna for providing an additional spark to pull the trigger on them. I've looked at these Freebird sandals a bunch of times since I saw Vivian wearing them in the tan color. I've thought more than once that I should take some of the stress off of my black LDTuttle sandals but getting another pair of edgy, heeled sandals. Sure enough, Anna recently commented on how I may want to take good care of those Tuttles because they're not so easy to find anymore, which got me thinking more about the Freebird sandals as an alternate.

In fact, even though the Freebirds could complete a lot of outfits I'd normally use the Tuttles for, the vibe is quite different. I like the distressing and the faded black for a more casual look. I think these will get wear with rolled jeans, those cropped Current Elliot jeans, and more. The Tuttles skew a bit more dressy.

So, thanks to Vivian and Anna, I decided to try these sandals, and not only do I think they'll work really nicely with my summer wardrobe, but they're very comfortable as well!

The navy blue colors in the shorts and top are slightly different -- I decided not to let that bother me. I hope it works.
