WIW - summer yesterday, fall today, plus a wardrobe hole

Hi friends, just sharing two WIWs ... the first one is a linen shirt with white shorts, when it was summer the other day ...

And then in true Ontario fashion, the weather has begun it's wild transitional swings, so today it's definitely autumn, so I grabbed my red (it's a blue-red, although the colour looks a bit tomato red in one of the photos) sweater and squeezed my butt into my skinnies. I don't think the snake belt did much for this as I look - plain black would have been better I think. Also need lipstick but I was going to the grocery store so I was about to put my mask on.

This outfit made very obvious a wardrobe hole - a pair of casual but polished shoes for transitional weather. It's always so short I have gotten away without this style of shoe for a few years, but I am taking DD to the shoe store for runners today, so I'll have a peek and see if there are any comfy loafers or fashion-sneakers that might fit the bill.

Also showing bracelets DD made for me this weekend - two good reminders, one to "breathe" and one to be "fabulous" !

Our weather did the same! Yesterday it was 97F and this morning it’s chilly enough for a light sweatshirt outside. And the smoke seems to have blown away, too. Your daughter’s handiwork is really great! I also like your necklace - so delicate - is it a twig? Also, who could have foreseen the lipstick industry would be decimated?

The in-between-season shoes are always an effort for me too. I do have some black sneakers and this weekend got some light ones, so with those and my loafers/mules I should be all set for the moment.

I love both outfits! I am a loafer fan, but I like your sneakers very much. I recently got some sort of navy- purple/ black Nike shoes that are not too clunky. I like “ fashion” sneakers, but can’t always get a comfortable fit. Still prefer low- profile shoes even in a running shoe.

Our weather is about to change also. I usually find myself surprised and unprepared with transitional outfits, so am trying to get ready!
