WIW - straight legs tucked into boots?

Here's what I wore today, all dark colors with only the scarf adding some brightness. I wasn't sure if these pants work tucked into the boots, but I needed some more options and I'm comfortable wearing these with shorter tops, unlike the skinnies I have. I think I need some well fitting black skinnies.

This works beautifully Astrid - the pants look fab tucked into your boots. I love the column of colour you have and then POW ...that fantastic scarf! This is one of my favourite outfits on you to date.

Thanks Shannon! I'm glad it works, because pants tucked into boots are just the easiest to wear in this weather - and I can wear most of my tops over these pants! And the scarf is so much easier to wear since it's been changed into a infinity scarf. The snow picture is the view from my kitchen window.

Interesting - I find the infinity style of scarves easier to wear too and recently converted my pink one from having fringe to being infinity.

That's a very nice view to have from your kitchen window!

Lovely! All black would have been too harsh. That cozy and warm-colored scarf right next to your face makes this perfect.

You know, Astrid, I'm really digging the straight-legged trousers/jeans tucked into knee-high (or calf-length) boots these days, and it works brilliantly on you here, so no need at all to go find a pair of black skinnies just for this purpose alone if you ask me.

Love this! I think as long as a straight leg is snug enough through they knee they work just fine tucked into boots and these definitely work. Stay warm! : )

Love this! The scarf adds the perfect pop of color and the whole outfit is sleek and cozy at the same time. I love tucking my straight leg jeans into boots too.

I don't like all straight leg jeans tucked into boots but IMO these are not too baggy and work just fine. Love the scarf, beautifull colors....I want some snow.

Thanks Cobaltblue! You're right, I thought it was too dark before I added the scarf, I did like it much better with that added color.

Thanks Inge! Yes, I can see what you mean. And I'm not really into very tight skinnies anyway. Maybe I could look for a new pair of straight legs though, these here are a bit worn out (I did buy them summer 2011 and they got a lot of wear) and just a tad too big.

Thanks Atlantia! When I got this watch strap in spring I thought about changing it up again for fall/winter, but I think the color still works. It adds a nice extra to many of my outfits.

WOW! You look STUNNING! And that scarf is so brilliant --- your grandmother's got fabulous taste as well as talent. Love the long, lean simplicity of your all-black silhouette, belted and booted for extra smartness---especially the way it puts the spotlight on your smile. One of your best. Gosh, Astrid, are you as adorable in real life as you are in your pictures? As much as I love your skirts, this combination really is outstanding. Stylish and put together AND practical and warm! Grandma's scarf really does the trick.

Thanks Pil! I also wear skirts in this kind of weather (I think it's just as warm with the right kind of tights layered), but pants are nice all the same. I wear way more pants now than I did two years ago.

Love this Astrid!!! Great silhouette and one of my favorite outfits on you. Not because I wore all black with scarf for a pop of color as well, but because something here feels so much like you - it is simple, comfortable, but everything fits well and scarf does add your own twist. Plus, I love seeing the belt.

It just occurred to me how much I like infinity scarfs on you. With your hair they frame your pretty face and make it the focal point which is just right as you have wonderful smile.

Inge was suggesting this the other day when I had a rant about not finding jeans for me, and you've just shown me a great example of straight legged jeans on a pearfect lady

That scarf is so perfect on you. I'm normally only a fan of skinny jeans tucked into boots, but you're making the tucked straights look good here!

Great scarf, looks so cozy and the colors are lovely on you. I don't own any "skinny" jeans. And I tuck into boots all the time. For my pear shape self, straight legs work better, so I'm a big fan of tucking straight leg jeans. Nice job!

Thanks Ornella! I love the semi tuck lately, I think an outfit instantly looks more stylish with it. I could have worn these pants without a belt, but i like how it adds a bit of interest. I went back and had a look at your thread. I think straight legs are a great option that is often overlooked between bootcut, skinnies and boyfriend jeans. I miss my old MAC straight legs I had, they were the most awesome pair of jeans I ever owned. I think I threw them out pre-YLF though, they were battered.
