After I considered my platform wedge sandals yesterday, I decided it was time to give these Sperry espadrilles a little love. Just a casual outfit as usual for my summer days. Old jeans cut off, my only Eileen Fisher item -- the metallic-tinged white tank, plus watch, ring, BR clutch, and a necklace I bought from a vendor in Bryant Park in NYC a couple of years ago. My belt is not really visible with the partial tuck.

This is a gorgeous outfit Janet! I like the casualness of the shorts and sleeveless tank and how they're dressed up with the subtle sparkle and the clutch. Your sandals look great with this. The blue stripes on them pull out the blue denim of your shorts. What a fab necklace too. You have such unusual pieces of jewellery.

Thanks, all! Angie, I wish I had another pair of slightly biggish jeans to chop off. I recently bought a pair of white Gap bootcuts on sale that I have thoughts of chopping, but they look pretty darn good full length. Maybe I should order another pair to chop.

Angie, if you happen to pop back in…. I chopped! I tried on the new white jeans (they were actually Gap Long & Leans sized up one size from my usual) and decided to do the chop to make them shorts like the ones pictured here. I compared the overall measurements of these jeans to the Gap ones and they were so similar I thought I'd be safe in making the chop.

So maybe tomorrow morning, I'll get a chance to take pics and debut another pair of long chopped BF shorts! I think I will wait before ordering another pair of white bootcut jeans -- I might find some others that I like even better to keep full length. I will get a lot more wear out of white shorts in the next few months than I will white full length jeans, and they were only something like $25.

Holy moly Janet, this one just took my breath away. The absolute perfect combination of casual and put together. The necklace and statement shoes just make it. Now THIS is the type of look I strive to achieve.

And now for something funny. I've had that tank in my cart for ages, and noticed it's on sale, so have been wondering if it's time to pull the plug. If I can find any plugs left TO pull... I even have a PM to you started but was too embarrassed to send it

The review of it say it's slim, yet it seems pretty fluid on you. So now even more tempted. Any comments on sizing?

And good for you chopping. I have a couple of pairs of jeans that I got cheap, that I know I won't wear as jeans now that I've purchased the AG's, Camerons, and the Paiges you sent. So I was thinking long shorts might be in their future too.

Elizabeth, I'd say it's quite fluid, at least on me. But, keep in mind it is the only EF item I've ever tried on that I liked well enough to buy. I think a lot of EF customers may rely on a greater amount of fluidity than I might. This is a small. Keep in mind I'm pretty small across the back -- this definitely looks even more fluid viewed from behind.
