WIW - some good, one not-so-good, baby pic

I've been mostly lurking lately. I've been super busy and we were out of town for the Thanksgiving holiday. When super busy, I like to read the forum on my phone but it's harder to type on that so I tend to not comment very much.

Here's a few outfits and one sort of dud that I'm not sure how to fix.

#1 - red thrifted dress
#2 - New thrifted knit blazer. The color is probably more fitting for spring/summer but I didn't want to wait that long to wear it. It's been unseasonably warm here (high 50's) so the outfit was appropriate for the temps.
#3 - New J Crew sweatshirt and chambray shirt for a casual day at work.
#4 - Grey jeans and snakeskin print sweater. I liked this outfit except for the boots. I can't figure out what would have looked better though. I don't have any really light colored boots. I have dark brown, cognac, grey, and black. I have a pair of shorter grey boots but they're as dark as the ones I'm wearing. Maybe they would have been less obtrusive?
#5 - Happy baby. Poor thing is between sizes. 12 mo is too small but he's swimming in 18 mo.

5 is my favorite. I see what you're talking about in 4 - barring a lighter colored boot, what about a boot that you can wear your jeans over, so that less of the dark is visible? 1 and 2 are very good acquisitions; they look great on you.

I love #4 especially, but then, I think we are snake sweater twins if I can ever find where I packed it . . .

i like #4, but i can see what you are saying about the boots. i'm wondering how either a higher boot, like the one in #1 or a lower boot would look, i think part of the issue here is the height of the boot, not just the color. love the new thirfted pieces- great slashes of color to brighten up winter

Wow, the red dress is a knockout! I notice the "red" theme in the pics - you can do colour.

I esp. love the red dress - great find! Not sure what I'd do on the dark boot thing - I gave up looking for light booties this year. And the adorable baby is suddenly an adorable toddler - wow, does time fly or what?

What a great thrift store find! That little guy is adorable! He will grow into those clothes quicker than you expect. I don't think either of my kids wore out any clothes before they turned three because they grew too quickly. My son was a bit of a mud magnet, so he did get things dirty! He still does at age 16, so nothing has really changed.

Rather than lighten your feet, you could add something dark around your neck for #4. But truly you look good in all of these. Love the dress on you especially. Baby is so trendy with that oversize look, but the adorable smile is timeless!

I don't mind the dark boots in outfit 4, I think it looks good. The dress is wonderful and super-flattering on you! And what a cutie your son is. My daughter also goes through these in-between-size phases...

That dress is just amazing on you! WOW. Wear that one again during the holidays if you can.

I also like the chambray shirt outfit. And you look so happy in the blazer. I don't mind the one with the boots; I think IRL it probably was more harmonious because they actually bookend your hair. The sweater is lovely.

As for #5, he is adorable!!!

I'm having a hard time getting past #5 myself. So cute, and what a little scene-stealer!
You are smashing in that red dress and boots! I like all the outfits, including #4. Maybe it comes off more casual than you wanted? I think the boots make it a cool, relaxed look, and I like the tonal look that you've achieved. Along the line of what kkards noted, I think a taller boot or shorter bootie would give a little dressier look, and I could definitely picture cognac with the outfit, if you wanted to try something different.
