WIW - shirt dress/tunic over skinnies

Today I am wearing an example of the look I have been wondering about in my recent thread if it still looks current: http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....ll-current.

This knitted tunic/shirt dress is definitely a top and needs pants, the only question is this look is becoming a bit tired. Also, I am wondering if the the vest works, proportion-wise.
All the feedback is welcome!

WBurgundy tunic - Velvet, python skinnies - Hudson, black denim moto vest -Wet Seal, black booties- Aerosoles.

I love it both with and without the vest, Tanya. The proportions look good to my eye, and this shade of burgundy is beautiful on you.
I didn't get a chance to reply to yesterday's thread, but I too think that the shirtdress + skinnies (or cigarette pants) look is still on trend (and we're seeing lots of this type of layering on the catwalk for Fall too).

I love the silhouette and the color. Tunics are tricky because they sometimes add too much volume but you hit just the right note. Well done!

I don't think this is necessarily an easy look to pull off, but you do it beautifully with your tall, slim frame. The vest is a great addition to create that interest an edge. You look fabulous as always!

Love it especially with the vest. I'm not very fashion forward but I think this still looks current. It would be very stylish in my neck of the woods.

Love without the vest. I think with the vest, the look *is* a little bit dated. But not really that dated.

Thank you very much ladies for all the input. I am relieved to hear that the look is not dated, I was aware that it wasn't the trendiest to begin with. But since I really like this silhouette, I will continue to wear it, but will not be investing in new shirt dresses/tunics.
