WIW - SAHS: Stay At Home Sparkle

So, we are having some very warm temps these days (sorry ladies, for those of you who live on the frozen tundra!) and my dressing has been rather incohesive. What I put on in the morning, I soon realize is not going to work, and so I quick change into something else - but usually don't change out my "foundation" garments and so sometimes I end up wearing the wrong color of bra (like in below pic) - or low rise undies when my pants are a higher rise. Hmmm . . . good thing I'm the only one that sees me those days.

Below pic - boring, I know - but this is what I'm wearing today!

Express (old) goldish, silverish tank top
Rich & Skinny (very old) BF jeans
Belt (old) - distressed metallic - can't remember where I got it
Nude flats - I think I got these at DSW - can't remember brand!

Thank you - no need to comment - I'm pretty much just trying to discipline myself to take daily WIWs - and it helps motivate me if I know that I'm going to be posting them!

What I dig is the mixed metals. Silvery top with gold belt and nude flats.

I like the mix of super casual with the jeans against a sparkle top which reminds me of getting dressed up. A great mixture here. And I really like that these are warm weather items but they do not scream "summer" items. I'm so used to dressing for fall and winter with cold weather items (sweaters, turtlenecks, etc) it's nice to see the same idea for the season (taupe, blue), with short sleeves and tanks and shoes that show some skin, items I associate with summer. Great job! I'm really enjoying your winter season with warm weather looks.

OK to comment anyway? I love this! Wouldn't have noticed the bra if you hadn't pointed it out, but yes, that sort of thing on myself bugs me no end even if I'm the only one seeing it.

You're inspiring me to do a little more with metallics, or at least be open to that. And maybe to take more frequent WIW pictures, if only for myself.

Well, you guys thank you! I must say that this was quite comfy today - except for several hours when I was particularly hot and kept thinking I needed to go put some shorts on - but I was just too lazy to walk upstairs and change.

Answers to a couple of questions:

Yes BethAnn - I definitely am more productive when I make an effort to dress in something that looks "good" - even if when I'm just WAH.

Karymk - I remember reading on one of your threads about you feeling the need to match your metals - and I had commented that to me that wasn't all that important. Just thinking out loud here - but maybe mixing your metals would be a way for you to feel like your style is less contrived? (Didn't I read that comment of yours sometime earlier today?)

AmyK - I can't begin to tell you how much I am learning about my style - and about the little things that I need to pay more attention to - now that I am taking more WIWs - so, I encourage you to try it - even, like you said, if its just for yourself!

Wow, definitely not boring at all! Your outfit is simple, but it's still really amazing.

I think it's really interesting that you're more productive when you make the effort to dress up. When I WFH, I usually just lay around in my pajamas, which now that I think about it, definitely makes me feel less like doing anything. I should try your strategy!

Your headline cracks me up! And you look terrific, I really enjoy your frequent WIWs these days. I remember when you posted like two WIWs in one entire year. Or maybe it was just one. It was knee shorts with a white shirt, popped collar and sassy glasses. That's all we got for a long time, but it was a great outfit because a year later, I copied it!

I really, really love this one, Marley. Yes, it was warm and Springlike yesterday and you wore it it well.

It was good hearing you learn about your style the more you post; I've taken lots of photos for myself and I guess that's about as far as they get, because somehow the look is off or the lighting isn't right and, thus, not YLF worthy.

You've got a great camera and yours look wonderful (outstanding tank color on you, too, btw).
