WIW - revival of the colored hose

I'm more or less over wearing colored hose, it has been a while for sure. But I rather like it in this outfit, where the look is low-key and the color matches. Unfortunately this dress doesn't fit right on top, so the only way to wear it is with a structured jacket over it that stays put.

Thanks Inge! Yes, it's too bad about the dress. I think there was only a very small window where I had the right weight to wear this dress on its own...

I like the patterned hose in this outfit, and the lace-up Oxfords continue the leg line... looks great to me! Good way to hide any issues with the top of the dress and bring it out to play.

Thanks Ceit! I'm not sure. It would be great as a skirt, but it would mean taking the zipper out and adding a new shorter one. I don't think I could do that myself.

Thanks Celia. Yes, our brief period of real summer temperatures seems to be over for now. Today it has been raining all day long.

You could probably get away with just recreating a new zipper stop. If the slider foot is all the way down, you can cut the zipper and just fold the ends over and sew new zipper stops with thread over the teeth. I've done it before successfully!

Oh Angie, you're not blind. I thought they looked like black hose at first too. I think they must be navy blue? The outfit is cute either way though.

Astrid, is this one of the recent outfits? We've had crazy ups and downs with our temperatures too, I can see the need for the hose. I love the outfit and these hose are perfect with it.

I also love this dress and always have If it does not fit on top any longer you can convert it to the skirt only maybe. It's great shape of skirt on you and you could reuse the band for the high waist. Then you'll get a lot more mileage out of it. I don't think it's a complicated alteration and your regular place should be able to do it.

Thanks Ornella! Yes it is. I tend to feel cold anyway, so it has to be quite warm for me to go with bare legs.... Also I think the weather in the southwest has been a bit better still than here in Berlin. And I agree, I would probably get a lot of use out of it as a skirt. I can definitely see the potential! Especially paired with my cropped boxy wool sweaters in fall. I don't think my usual place will do it though, they have a clear list with prices and do nothing else. But I can look for a different place when I'm back from our holiday.
