WIW - retro feel and tweaking the pixie

This outfit is practically the more casual version of this one. It feels rather more retro to me than some of my other looks. Do you think it works?

I've also had another haircut, this time making a few adjustments. The sides and back are shorter than they've been so far and my ears are free. I really like it, although it feels like a completely new look again.

Oh and the purple lambswool sweater arrived this morning. It fits just as well as the other one and the color is lovely. It's on the laundry rack right now, but I'll take some pictures of it when there's an outfit.

You look so warm and cozy and comfy. Glad the new sweater is going to work out for you. I bet it's a nice color, can't wait to see it.

Your hair looks straighter on the top in this pic. I like it. And isn't it interesting how a slight change can make a big difference, especially with short hair!

Thanks abc! Yes, it's a great dark purple. And it's different enough to the other one that I'm going to get good use out of both colors. The hair is shorter right now, on top too. The waves are only showing with a bit of length. If they're too short they look more or less straight.

It definitely works. What a difference the topper makes to the overall outfit. I noticed that myself the other day. You look super cute, Astrid. Love the modified pixie!

Yes! I am in the middle of re-evaluating my shoes. I thought I had everything squared away but I'm realizing they could use a refresher pair or two. They do make SUCH a difference.

Loving the new do Astrid. Does the new purple sweater work with the plaid skirt? I'm imagining some interesting colour combinations...

abc, so true. I'm still thinking about my new pair of spring shoes, I'm not quite sure what I want to look for... But definitely no black!

Thanks approprio. Do you mean this plaid skirt? It definitely works with my other one, it fits just like the green one below. It's a bit long to work well with this one, because of the flare of the skirt and the banded hem on the sweater. But I've actually worn berry shades with this skirt above before, there's some pink in the stripes so it works well.

I hear you. I need/want new shoes for spring/summer. I'm not really happy with my sandal options though I'm getting away from open toe shoes more and more. I know I don't want black either. I'm curious about slip ons (late to the party, I know).

Keep us posted on what you end up with, seems like we may have a similar lifestyle (big city, lots of walking) so what works for you could for me as well

I made my peace with my black Birkenstock sandals, so I don't want to replace them. I'd rather take care that the clothes work with the Birks - they are just the most comfortable shoes I can imagine for really warm days. For shoes I was thinking about sneakers or sporty slip ons for a while, but I think I'd prefer shoes I can also wear with a skirt.

I do enjoy a good plaid! Looks good Astrid. Like Approprio mentioned, I bet the new sweater will look good with the skirt too.
