Here's what I wore Wednesday 9 May. I'd love to be able to tell you an exciting story about what I did today but really nothing to report.

Red Zara Jacket (thrifted)
Black striped twist front shirt (about 7 years old from Glassons)
Grey wide leg trousers (thrifted Max)
Trusty black winklepickers

Red and black are magnificent on you. Can't resist it, though.....what about replacing the winklepickers with the..........pencil skirt? Is it cool enough for you to wear tights? That might make your legs feel less exposed.

Seriously, this is a great combination on you. Have you thought about adding a necklace?

Okay, winklepickers is a new one to me. I gather that they are your shoes, though!

I really love the cut of that red jacket, and pairing it with the beautiful seamed top is just stunning.

Hmmm winklepickers must be a kiwi thing or possibly showing my age. It's the name of the pointy toed shoes that were really popular in the 1960s & these shoes are that shape.

Oh Beth Ann you will never let me rest until I post that durn pencil skirt.

Smart styling of volume on volume there! I like how the pop of red on top and keeping everything else elegant black makes it look so much more balanced than if the wide legs were another colour. Good geometry!

Deborah, Noelle, Mandipa & Aunty thanks for you kind remarks I always feel good when I wear this jacket it is such a bright and cheery colour especially as the weather here is the opposite of bright and cheery - i.e. dark & dreary.
