WIW - Red, then and now, and a walk down memory lane

Does anyone else attach memories to the color of their clothes? Hmm, maybe this is why I overthink color so much - it really stays in my brain! The other day Angie kindly commented that Christmas red is a good color on me, and it set off a flood of memories about red pieces I've worn over the years (my Mom apparently knew what was what, she dressed me in red a lot!). I remember my red turtleneck from my first proper job at IBM, my red hoodie twin set my DH bough me when we were dating, a red oversized sweater that I wore with black leggings and a black choker on my first day at university. Very happy to have this hue in my closet once again!

What are your 'memory colors' ... or I am a weirdo in this respect??
1. 44 years old with the grays to prove it! Must touch up roots today!
2. 10 years old - loved that drop-waist dress. My red earrings had ST on one side and OP on the other. I thought they were super-clever.
3. 1 year old - I actually really love the print on this bathing suit. I'd wear it now!
4. 2 years old - my birthday party in Ireland. Already rocking my classic polished casual contrast style. Kate not yet born lol.

Red is definitely your color. I remember a fairy story about two sisters, one blonde and one brunette. The blonde wore blue throughout the story, and brunette wore red. I remember what they wore, but I don’t remember the plot of the story...

I definitely attach memories to clothes! I think every woman does! When Kelly Osbourne was talking about her clothing line she said she called it Stories because women are so sentimental about pieces of clothing and she wanted her pieces to be things women associate with great memories in their lives and become favorites.

Outfits I wore to interviews where I ended up getting the job, I'm gonna love those outfits forever..

The dress I wore to my ex husband and I's last Valentine's date before getting divorced that spring I had to get rid of.. Couldn't get myself to wear it again.

Funny because it's just clothes but.. it's almost like something becomes lucky or unlucky. And some things you just feel great and confident in..

Helena- you are such a true elegant classic in your looks and style. To me red is always in style and you shine in it. A red sweater, a red beanie. Red shoes - a perfect cheery addition to your closet.

I also love red - I don't have much now. Because I was an 80s fashion victim and dressed in the 70s by a chocolate brown loving Mum I didn't develop a true sense of my colour preferences for a long time. But I should wear more red.

Yes, I can be nostalgic about colour. Altho it’s sorta wrapped up in the items. But our parents used to dress me and my cousin alike, the difference being colour. Probably scarred us both for life. She’s blue and I’m pink, but both of us had green and white rooms... and now that we’re old: she’s France and I’m England. Lol.

My only color memory is black, my signature for much of my early life. I was a real bundle of joy as a teenager .

I love this colour red on you and I adore red too, because it was my Mother's best colour. Like you, she had dark hair and fair skin and exactly the same tone of red was stunning on her.

As a child my Mum dressed me in blue. It is my best colour because of my fair hair and blue eyes. I aways think of her when I wear blue. She was horrified when I became a teenager (wearing lots of black) and then started working and mainly wore dark coloured suits (charcoal, black, navy and grey). I have come back to wearing and loving blue and lighter and brighter colours.
