WIW - Preppy, Patriotic and Paint-covered in shortalls

Happy Memorial Day! Decided red, white and blue were appropriate for the weekend.
Here are a few WIWs from the weekend so far. Nothing held back here.
1. Preppy - DD declared Saturday "Red Family Day" so we all wore red. I went full out preppy in my Banana Republic denim shorts, Esprit red button down, Crown Gold Loafers (forgot I had these so maybe I no longer need the topsiders?), and LL Bean madras bag.
2. Patriotic: Blue day on Sunday running around to garden center and Lowes. Vigoss denim shorts, Boden Breton striped top, Cole Haan sneaks, Madras purse
3. Painting the basement - (For Anna) My famous denim overalls that I actually once wore seriously but have also served me well as my paint togs. Crazy shirts Sharka tshirt, fashionable kneepads (Lowes) and old teva flip flops.
4. Dressed up for dinner at family. I finally got this vintage kimono top repaired. Haven't ever worn it - too afraid to ruin it. I put it on with a Gap tank, 7FAMK clam jeans, Gap metallic sandals, Esprit belt. Sadly after wearing for less than an hour both sleeves started to rip. I guess this one is back in repair pile.

These are terrific casual looks. And you look way better painting that I do (I wear some old size large cutoff sweatpants and a too-large tank top).

Soooo sad about your kimono top. It's so beautiful, and really makes that outfit a standout. 1 and 2 are very nice for a casual weekend. You look totally classic and confident.

Hey lady. I was out in your neck of the woods yesterday. After dropping hubby off at work, I ended up going to T1 and browsed around. Nothing caught my eye.

BTW, Outfit #1 and #4 kimono top is cute. Too bad it tore.

Love your "Red Family Day" idea. My Greg could wear his red Converse and Rosie could wear her red collar if we had one in our house.

Fabulous! You look awesome in your paint-splattered overalls! Every outfit looks casual yet polished, and fits you beautifully. That kimono jacket looks lovely--so sad that the sleeves seem so delicate. Hope it's an easy repair--it would be a perfect summer jacket!

You look great in the clams - love outfit 4 and really hope the top is fixable. Your overalls are making me laugh and I know my DD would want be with Anna on coveting them! She loves paint spattered clothing and overalls.

Family color day sounds fun - we only do the 4th of July but it's a blast.

What a shame about the kimono top. It's a lovely piece, and I hope you can repair it.

Angie - you 3 should definitely try a Red Family Day. I didn't get a photo of us all but we were quite a sight.

@Shannon - I've see you triumph at casual many times.
@annagybe - these are authentic distressed. I bought them at a boutique 20 years ago for $100 I think (a lot for me then and now) but I've gotten my wear out of them as evidenced by the at least 8 colors of paint I can detect on them (and I'm sure I've painted in them 20 times)
@cocolion - I got them at a Consignment store and they are called Crop Josephina Skinny Boyfriend. No idea on the wash. They were a great find, they are a bit baggy but in a good way and I have to wear a belt to keep them up.

I love 1 and 4. The gold loafers look great and I really like the red button down with the shorts. #4 is just right, hope you can get the jacket back in action soon.

Happy Memorial Day to you! LOVE #1, and #2 is pretty darn fab. Sad to hear about the kimono top in #4. And awesome painting gear!

I love your preppy and red! Outfit number four is especially gorgeous after the painting togs. I often feel the need to "put on the dog" after having a grungy day! It's like a makeover! You look fab.
