Hi all. As usual I have a short amount of time to post but I promise I'll come by and look through posts more often especially in August. August will be quite slow at work so there will be lots of (dressy) casual outfits to come. Also, I'll be leaving for the beach on Thursday so expect a few photos to come your way. Have a great rest of the week.

Anyway, here are a few outfits I managed to take last week and yesterday.

Outfits 1-4: worn last week. I didn't wear the jacket because it was too big.
#5 - my favorite AT black shirt dress
#6 - my bicycle dress worn to visit mom. She loves this dress.
#7-8 - worn yesterday to work. Dressy casual right?

I love them all. That first dress is a perfect fit and I love the belt. Is it a scarf?

Dresses 2 and 3 are great on you too. You seem to be able to wear so many silhouettes well.

I think #3 is outstanding. It reminds me of something I would see in a 50s paris pic. Very nice.

Ramya - As you've noticed I am obsessed with dresses this summer because it's just that easy to wear. There's no need coordinate tops with bottoms, plus dresses/skirts keep me cooler than pants. You just need a good pair of shoes and a bag.

I was thinking red pointy kitten heels would give your outfits a 60's British invasion vibe.

So fab! I love you in dresses and skirts. Your favorite dress has such a great 50's housewife vibe with the 3/4 sleeves and shirtwaist styling. I love it!

I love the way you wear knee and midi-length skirts and dresses with such panache!

And I completely agree about the ease & comfort of wearing dresses in DC's hot & muggy weather. I'm wearing a sleeveless one today...

qpswan - I was thinking about wearing my red shoes but decided against it since i was rushing to work.

Angie - <blushing galore> Thank you as always. I've come a long way from wearing slacks/pants to work and now I can't get enough of dresses. I've also learned to like my body the way is (I have my issues from my waist down) even though it's a struggle at times. A-line dresses hide my tummy area and who doesn't love that, right?

Sunita, San, ClearlyClare and Transconna Shannon - I realized midi- shirtstyle-with-vintage-vibe dresses are my friend: it's flattering on my body rather than fitted silhouettes. I just feel more comfortable in these types of dresses.

I do have fitted sheath dresses and I promise I will wear them before the summer ends (yes some of them still have their tags on them too - I'm a bad girl), okay possibly even next week. You'll see the difference between the A-line dresses vs. tighter dresses and then you can tell me which style looks better on me.

I love the stylish simplicity of all these outfits but the pencil skirt, striped top and ballet flats is my favourite.

Jonesy - My mom and I have such different tastes, her being more conservative, but she does seem to like the way I dress now rather than say 20 years ago when all I wore was black. LOL!!! Gee I wonder why?

You look great in all of these dresses, and the pencil skirt too. I especially like the AT dress--very chic. About five years ago, I bought a similar dress from AT and it's still one of my favorites.
