I’ve had a bit of a rough past couple days, and it’s been a couple of weeks now that my husband has had to be out of town, which sort of wears on me after a while. Today I was feeling a bit too isolated after a couple of days of barely leaving the house, so after a swim and a shower, I decided to put on real clothes and take myself out for sushi.
I tried on a whiteout outfit, but it wasn’t quite right. The top I wanted to wear was too cropped for these old Gap midrise cutoffs, and I wasn’t in the mood for the only other white top that worked with them. Although I did note that my koi fish blouse would have worked too.
So I went halfway to dressing in colors appropriate for our USA holiday weekend. No red. I got this blue GoSilk top recently — it’s washable and it even got tested out tonight as it rained on me a little as I hurried back to my car. Water dries on it without a spot!
Added the reptile print shoes and bag for a little texture and variation from the crisp blue and white combo, and wore the pendant my husband gave me for Christmas (a tiny pearl marks the spot where he and I met 24 years ago).
Bonus photobomber Woody — he was trying to let me know in his own sweet way that I was late getting the dogs their dinner. My hair looks a little wonky here but it’s only halfway dry in the pics.
Oh, and would someone please get this Trina Turk dress so I can live vicariously? It came up in an ad on social media and I love it, but it’s probably too short and not quite right on me. Check out the pink and orange version too.
