WIW - no jeans day 4 eta a different top

Here's today's outfit - after taking the selfie, I realized keeping the top simple and untucked was more flattering (to my eye at least). As always, trading in the heels for winter boots :/
ETA - I changed into a gingham shirt and navy sweater to freshen up for a busy MOTG evening. I think I like this better ...

I think both ways of wearing the top work. A semituck probably works better with a longer top, where it creates more of an asymmetrical look. YLF though! Are you missing your jeans?

You've given me an idea to wear my navy/white striped top with my olive Dres.

Thank you Elizabeth! Agreed on the semi-tuck - this top is already short, and doesn't benefit from the tuck.

I wouldn't say I'm missing my jeans, but I can say I don't think I'd feel as comfortable wearing any of these pants day after day, as I am quite happy to do with my jeans. That said, I think this will encourage me to mix it up a little and throw in a non-jeans look more often.

Simple and classy. I also prefer the outfit with the top untucked, but it may just be my taste for stripe parallelism influencing my judgement.

I’m really liking your colored bottoms in combination with your striped tops. The slim bottoms also seem close to your normal jean silhouette, which may help you branch out from denim when you choose.

delurked, definitely - I've not strayed from my standard silhouette, so it's been pretty easy to make the replacement. I just need to remember to offset the muted bottoms with a top with a little more 'pop', so the stripes are working. I might have to experiment with a bright bottom with a more muted top for spring ...

Still going strong here! I worried about wearing my ponte leggings today, as that might leave me with nothing for tomorrow that I can layer under, but I remembered something else I have. I've paired these with tall black riding boots. Not one of my dressier outfits, but I feel cozy.

I love your outfit today. The colors are great together, an I agree you don't need the tuck.

Streamlined chic. I have not been a tucker for years, but am coming round to the idea. I like both on you, but agree with the analysis of top length - you get a nice long leg line even with the top untucked. But the tuck does allow you to showcase your belt.

What pants, boots, and top are you wearing in pics 1 and 2, TG? They are so classic but I really LOVE the way they fit you. The colors are wonderful - crisp and warm. Just a step up from denim but it really makes such a difference. You're inspiring.

Ah Viva, you are too kind I tried to find some of these items in "Finds" but I had no luck (and most are OLD pieces); I need to learn how to make Custom Finds but haven't had a chance yet, but here the details:

Pants are slim motos from Joe Fresh of all places, and they were on sale for $9.94 which is ridiculous. By sheer luck, I saw them the day after some olive conversations on the forum AND they happened to have my size AND they actually fit (which Joe Fresh pants very frequently don't in my experience). These were sort of an experiment but are definitely on my 'upgrade' list (see finds for Zara possibility!). https://www.joefresh.com/ca+mo.....p/WF7B1458
Also on the upgrade list is my striped sweater, which is at least 5 years old and fading fast (literally and figuratively) - it's good old Gap, and when I find a good replacement, I'll add it to my finds. (eta: jcrew had a potential - in finds - but sold out. will keep hunting!)
The boots are again an old pair, several years for sure, from Nine West, and still going strong as they are not lifestyle-appropriate most days. Pretty much a simple black leather ankle boot with an almond-shaped toe. These are quite similar (the leather looks more peppled on these): https://www.ninewest.ca/produc.....2329378629

So that was not very helpful! However, I'll keep an eye out for replacements and share what I find!
