WIW - New Sweater to Work - YouLookFab Forum

I just recently got this Rag & Bone cozy sweater and am experimenting on how to style it. It's navy blocked with navy/white marled bands and trimmed with a light lilacy-plum. I tied it in with last week's navy Loft jeans and Frye loafers. The t-shirt is a light plum and I think the scarf looks more plum with this outfit.

I have beautiful tall grey suede flat boots that would look fabulous with this sweater but the boots kill my foot right now - couldn't even put them to show you (sigh). I'm in desperate need of boots that my feet can handle until I get this dumb foot repaired. Time is running out as it's supposed to snow tonight! Uggs are starting to look good right now but I fear they're too young for me. So how old is too old for Uggs?

Love, love, love, both the color blocking and the plums. I need an answer to your question, as I want Uggs, too. I might just get them anyway, because I don't care. That is, if my feet can handle them.

What kind of Uggs? There is a lot more to the brand that the slippers boots the younger crowd wears. I can highly recommend some of their leather boots and booties.

This outfit is fabulous. Chic, put togther, modern and yet pretty too with the lilac.

Stunning! I really like the color blocked sweater and you can wear lilac like no one else.

I'm sorry to hear about your poor foot. Uggs are soft and cozy, so if that's what you need right now. get a pair. They don't provide much support though.

Thistle, right now it's the soft kind I need. I was thinking of something like the Bailey style. Unfortunately structured leather ones are just too stiff for my foot. It's really just this winter (she says optimistically).

Oh Beth Ann, Those are really cute. Thanks so much for the lead. I've gone to their website and am trying to figure out sizing. They come in full sizes and, of course, I'm an 8 1/2. I've done some google searching and some people say Uggs run big and others say small but it depends on the particular style. Unless anyone here has a pair of the Cambridge and can give me a clue, I guess I'll just have to track down a pair in person to try them on.

That *is* a nice sweater and the lilac looks great with it. After another recent Ugg thread, I happened to try on a pair of the traditional style at Rack - just because they were there. They felt fabulous and I now know what the appeal is.

Great sweater -- looks lovely, Bev. Did you hurt your foot running? I hope it feels better soon, or if you need surgery that it is done soon and you recover uneventfully. Hope you can find a comfy pair of boots to get you through the winter!

Celt, Thank you for your concern. I just jammed it walking on a beach in Cuba 2 1/2 years ago - fast forward to present still waiting for surgery (sigh). Unless i get a cancellation here in TO I'm looking at going to Texas in January.

BTW I did try on those great Sorel Slimpacs you mentioned but sadly they aren't for me this year. Next year is another story.

You look so pretty in that lilac and the Rag and Bone sweater is TDF. I bet you will get much wear out of that. As for the Ugg Boots, I don't think it's an age thing, it's a style thing. I don't love them in the least, not with this outfit at least.
